'Little girls with dreams become women with vision!' This is exactly what happened with Bollywood actress, Sara Ali Khan who believed in her dreams. And, it’s not just sheer luck that supported her, it took years of hard work that resulted in two back-to-back hit films in the form of Abhishek Kapoor’s directorial Kedarnath and Rohit Shetty’s Simmba. The 23-year old actress, Sara had made headlines much before her big Bollywood debut! Back in 2012, when Sara appeared on the cover of Hello Magazine with mommy, Amrita Singh, fans couldn’t help but notice the resemblance between the two. And after six-years when Sara entered the industry, she was yet again compared to her mom. However, the young actress doesn’t take it as a compliment until she can match her mom’s acting skills.
In a recent interview with Rediff.com, Sara said, “I took a picture of me in purple lipstick and there was a picture of my mom thirty years ago in purple lipstick. It's more of DNA and chance. I felt 'Wow, we are doing the same thing' but I don't know about acting. She is an extremely fine actor and it will take me a long time to be compared to her.” (Also Read: Srishty Rode And Manish Naggdev Unfollow Each Other On Instagram, Is Rohit Suchanti The Reason?)
Sara further talked about success and celebrations of two big hits. She stated, “My celebrations are interviews. I am not being funny, it’s true! It has been so hectic for the past three weeks, working on Simmba, that the only time one gets to internalise what has happened is during interviews. There is nothing more beautiful than celebrating with people who make you what you are. I think I am what I am because of the media and the audiences. I went incognito to watch the film in theatres. That was a celebration!”
Sara further talked about her two big hits and stated, “The only thing I needed was to see myself on screen first. I understand that the opinions of my parents, friends, seniors, and audiences matter a lot. Seeing the appreciation, I feel a duty now. Your battles keep changing as there are new challenges. Now the challenge is not searching for acceptance. I have done Kedarnath and Simmba and I've worked hard, done my best and also received 80 per cent of praise. 20 per cent is good karma and they know I am a sweet person and they will not write me off.” (You May Also Like: Alia Bhatt And Ranbir Kapoor Explore New York Together, Click Happy Snaps With Their Fans)
Sara also talked about success and how she is taking all the pressure of being a star. The actress quoted, “I don’t think about stardom. I still wake up in the mornings and go to the gym, have my food and then go to work. That’s it. I don’t think about stardom. I went for a walk at the beach this morning. I don’t think it’s a big deal, it’s normal.”
Earlier, in an interview with DNA, Sara revealed her mom, Amrita Singh’s reaction to her film. She said, “Mom had heard the narration and she had also seen some rushes. But she still cried in the climax, so that was a big one for me.” In another interview with SpotboyE.com, Sara talked about her weight loss journey and said, “I was 96 kg at the time when I told my mother, sitting on the bed crying and saying, ‘Mom, all I want to do is become an actor.’ Then, she said that you need to lose weight. And, it took me about a year-and-half to lose that weight. So, I completed the remaining two years of my graduation in a year so that I can return and start working early.” (Don't Miss: Divya Agarwal Calls Priyank Sharma 'A Bad Experience', Varun Sood 'The Best Thing' In Her Life Now)
