Sara Khan revealed how her ex-husband, Ali Merchant keeps coming back to her to create new controversies. Read on!
Sara Khan is a well-known face in the television industry. Over the years, she has made a name for herself with shows like Bay-Khudi, Sapna Babul Ka… Bidaai, Ram Milaye Jodi and many more. The actress had fallen in love inside the controversial show, Bigg Boss 4, with her co-contestant, Ali Merchant and had got married on national television.
Their decision to marry on a reality show had created quite a buzz back then. Unfortunately, things soon fell apart after coming out of the show. Ali and Sara parted ways on an ugly note and signed the divorce papers in 2011. After this, they never met each other until in the show, Lock Upp as co-contestants. Now, in a recent media interaction, Sara and her current beau, Shantanu Raje, revealed how Ali Merchant intentionally bumps into them at parties and tries to seek publicity and create controversies with Sara.

In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Sara Khan and her pilot-boyfriend sat for a heart-to-heart chat, in which the host asked Shantanu if he felt insecure because of Ali Merchant. Answering this, Shantanu said he doesn’t feel insecure as everyone has a past. He added that Sara is a public figure, which is why her past is published in the newspapers, and everyone knows about it in detail, but this doesn’t make him feel any less proud of her. He lauded Sara for being an independent and strong woman.
Further, in the same conversation, Sara revealed how Ali Merchant had bumped into her and Shantanu at a Goa party and was trying to become a friend. She said that even after denying to be his friend, her ex-husband keeps coming back to her to seek publicity.

Earlier, in an interview with the ETimes, Sara Khan had mentioned that she had met Shantanu through mutual friends. However, it was only after one and a half years that romance between the two started brewing on a photo messaging app. Sara added that after chatting for some time, she decided to meet him. Even after meeting, the soulmates tried to hide their true feelings from each other. In her words:
“Shantanu and I knew each other through common friends and would meet at parties but never really spoke with each other. After almost a year and half, we connected on a photo messaging application, got chatting and decided to meet. When we met, we instantly felt the connection but we weren’t ready to acknowledge it (smiles).”
