Late actor, Satish Kaushik opened up about losing his two-year-old son, Shanu in his last interview with Filmfare magazine.
Satish Kaushik was a legendary actor, who ruled over millions of hearts with his impeccable acting skills. He has worked in some blockbuster films like, Tere Naam, Mr. India, Kaagaz, Thar, Saajan Chale Sasural, Ram Lakhan, Chhalaang and many more. However, it was on March 9, 2023, when the veteran actor left for the heavenly abode, leaving his family and the entire film industry shocked. The 66-year-old actor bid adieu to the world after he suffered a heart attack. Now, after 2 months of the actor's untimely demise, the Filmfare magazine released his last interview, wherein, he talked about his late son, Shanu.
In his last interview with Filmfare magazine, late actor, Satish Kaushik opened up about the demise of his son, Shanu Kaushik. Talking about the same, the actor revealed that he was shattered after the untimely demise of his son in 1996. He also mentioned that after that incident, he didn't want to work in films and he even felt guilty about returning to work. Elaborating about how his son's untimely demise taught him a lot, Satish said:
"When I lost my son, I was broken. I didn’t want to work anymore. In fact, you feel guilty about going back to work. Both – the failure of Roop Ki Rani… and the loss of my son taught me a lot. You don’t know what destiny has in surprise. You just have to carry on."

Once in an interview with the Lucknow Times, Satish had opened up about his son, Shanu Kaushik's demise. Talking about him, the actor revealed how he couldn't get the time to even mourn for his loss. He also shared that he could not process the loss of his son because of the work pressure. However, Satish stated that after the birth of his daughter, he had changed a lot. In his words:
"I avoid going to parties now, I have become calmer. I even control my diet and drinking because of her. I had lost my son 20 years back, when I was at the peak of my career. I couldn’t really get time to even feel that loss. I used to be continuously busy with work and this would make me feel guilty: I didn’t even have the time to mourn my son’s death. But ab Vanshika ke aane se sab baraabar ho gaya. All the unsettled emotions are somewhere settled with Vanshika’s arrival."
On March 8, 2023, Satish had attended Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi’s Holi party in Mumbai. The actor clicked pictures and selfies with so many stars at the party and looked joyous as ever. From posing with Javed Akhtar, Mahima Chaudhry, Ali Fazal, Richa Chadha, and many more for selfies and photographs, Satish enjoyed the festival of colours to the fullest. However, hours after attending the party, the actor lost his life to cardiac arrest. His close friend, Anupam Kher had taken to his IG handle to announce the news of his untimely demise with a heavy heart. He posted a monochrome picture with his best buddy, Satish Kaushik and penned an emotional note, which could be read as:
"I know that death is the ultimate truth of this world! But I had not thought even in my wildest dreams that I would write this thing about my best friend someday. Such a sudden full stop to a friendship of 45 years!! Life will NEVER be the same without you SATISH!"
