The spooky season of Halloween has everyone in Hollywood buzzing with excitement with never-ending nights of parties and dress-ups. However, for some, these Halloween costume parties came crashing down as a nightmare. Schitt's Creek actress, Emily Hampshire, is the new target of the costume mishap as her Johnny Depp-Amber Heard Halloween outfit has triggered netizens.
For the unversed, Emily Hampshire dressed up as Johnny Depp this Halloween and her unidentified friends as Amber Heard. Emily and her friend not only dressed up as the infamous couple, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, but also enacted their 2015 domestic abuse accusatory incident with a wine bottle.

Soon after Emily posted her Halloween look on her Instagram account, people started to raise fingers at her for mocking something as sensitive as domestic abuse. People were disappointed that Emily chose to ignore the matter's sensitivity and subjected it to mockery. Soon after the masses trolled, the Schitt's Creek actress deleted the post. Emily Hampshire soon realised the gravity of her joke and issued a public apology. She profusely apologised to the masses and added that it was never her intent to mock domestic violence as she realised that it is not something to be made fun of. Emily further added:
"I want to address what is one of the most thoughtless, insensitive, and ignorant things I've ever done," Hampshire said in her Wednesday statement. "For Halloween, I stupidly thought it would be funny to dress as Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. I am deeply sorry and ashamed for putting something that awful out in the universe. Domestic abuse is never, ever funny. These are real issues with real people, and I REALLY regret my actions. In the future, I will do better. I'm so sorry."
