The American singer, Selena Gomez surprised her fans by announcing the release of her new solo song on August 17, 2023. The fans of the 31-year-old singer have been waiting with their abated breaths for the past many years to listen to her upcoming album, but to their dismay, Selena has not yet announced the details regarding her new album.
Selena Gomez has been working on her third studio album, SG3, for quite some time now. It's been over three years since Selena's last album, Rare. After the release of that album, the singer slyly hinted that Rare could be her last album, as she might be retiring from music altogether. However, in March 2023, Selena informed her followers that she was back in the studio, actively working on her new music.

Selena Gomez understood that her fans couldn't keep their calm anymore for the release of her new album. Hence, to keep them contented, for the time being, she announced the release of her new song, Single Soon, on her official Instagram handle. The announcement was enough to get her fans excited to such a level that they filled her comment section with messages about their excitement for the release on August 25, 2023. She captioned her post:
“Y’all have been asking for new music for a while. Since I’m not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer. SINGLE SOON. August 25. Presave it now.”

Selena Gomez has teamed up with the record label, Interscope Records to produce her third studio album, SG3. As per several reports, she revealed that the album will feature 24 tracks that will focus on her personal life and experiences that have remained private until now. These tracks will be solely about her. In 2023, Selena announced that the lyrics of her songs are going to be about ‘freedom from relationships and darkness’.
While she announced her upcoming song via a post on her official IG handle, Selena also posted a few stories. The one that caught our attention was a quote. She posted:
“Don’t settle for being someone’s sometimes.”
This cryptic story kind of signals the singer's on-and-off relationship with her former boyfriend, Justin Bieber. For the unversed, Justin Bieber tied the knot with American model and socialite, Hailey Rhode Bieber in 2018.
Selena Gomez seems to be everyone’s favourite person at present. Before announcing the release of her new song, the 31-year-old uploaded a reel on her IG story, where she was seen applying a new eyebrow gel from her cosmetic company, Rare Beauty.
The singer shared a snippet of her applying the gel on her brows while enjoying Ariana Grande’s 2016 song, Be Alright. The latter took to her IG handle to re-share the same on her story, with ‘cutie’ as the caption. The fans cannot stop gushing over their cute friendship. Check out the comment:
