In a recent conversation, a renowned journalist opened up about how Shabana Azmi reacted when she didn't like her photo in a publication, and also revealed Dharmendra's reaction.
Shabana Azmi is one of the stunning actresses of her generation. She has shown her acting prowess in several films, television shows, and theatre plays. Ever since her debut in 1974, she has worked in more than 160 films. However, it was Shabana's impeccable beauty that often etched a place in the hearts of her many fans.
It is noteworthy that during Shabana Azmi's young age, neither paparazzi culture was prevalent, nor were there any pre-photoshoots done before posting a picture alongside the newspaper articles. Thus, Shabana once lost her cool when she was not pleased with her photo, which was published in a newspaper article. Now, while opening up on the YouTube channel, Inconversation with Ishan, the journalist of the concerned publication, Roshmila Bhattacharya shared how Shabana expressed her disappointment to the former. Roshmila said:
“I remember once I was out of the office, and Shabana ji’s interview was published the next day. She called me the following day and was really angry. She said, ‘I never expected this from you. How could you be so insensitive?’ I didn’t know what had happened because I was on leave. I listened to her concerns and later explained that I wasn’t in the office when the photo was selected.”

In another segment of the same chat, Roshmila recalled veteran actor, Dharmendra's behaviour with the former. The journalist mentioned that the actor always used to be kind to her and would end their chats with shayaris. Not only that, Roshmila mentioned that Dharmendra used to bless her and even compliment the articles after their interviews were published. In Roshmila's words:
“Dharam ji is lovely. He would always say, ‘Mera achha photo dalna’ and send a photograph from his own collection. Whenever the article was published and I shared the link with him, he would see the photograph and say, ‘You have written it very well.’ He would also call the next day after the article was published, bless me, and say, ‘Bahut bhadiya, bahut achha likha hai‘, God bless you and stay happy.”
On the work front, Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra recently worked together in Karan Johar’s film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which was released on the big screen on July 28, 2023. Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh also starred in the film in the lead roles. While Shabana was seen as Alia's grandmother, Dharmendra portrayed the character of Ranvir's grandfather. Apart from Alia and Ranvir's chemistry, it was Shabana and Dharmendra's camaraderie that won many hearts.

Earlier, in an interview with Zoom Digital, Shabana reacted to her on-screen kissing scene with Dharmendra in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. When the film was released, the netizens criticised the actors for doing a bold scene at such an age. However, Shabana expressed that it was nothing to fuss about. Further, elaborating that it would have been everyone’s dream to kiss a man as handsome as Dharmendra, she shared:
“I never thought it would create such a fuss! People are laughing and cheering when we do the kiss. While shooting it was never an issue. It is true that I haven’t kissed much on screen before. But who wouldn’t want to kiss a man as handsome as Dharmendra?”
