The producer has once again proved that he and Shah Rukh Khan are nothing but the epitome of real friendship and brotherhood.

On November 2, 2021, Karan Johar took to his Instagram handle and shared seven memorable pictures with his BFF, Shah Rukh Khan, to wish him on his 56th birthday. Apart from their priceless photos that speak everything about their more than a decade-long friendship, it was his heart-melting note in the caption that has left the internet in meltdown. In his touching note, Karan opened up about his first-ever meeting with Shah Rukh Khan on the sets of the film, Karan Arjun. Recalling their first meeting, the producer thanked Shah Rukh for shaping his career. His note can be read as:
"I met him on the sets of Karan Arjun for the first time …. I tagged along with my father to hang out with Kajol… not realising i was going to meet a man who would go on to shape my life , my career and my very being ….his charisma and intelligence is a globally known fact … but I have the privilege of witnessing his humanity and heart."
Going further in his note, Karan Johar also praised his BFF, Shah Rukh Khan, for the kind of father, husband, and friend he is in real-life. From calling him a 'loving brother' to praising him by saying that he is an 'indispensable friend', Karan left no stone unturned to make his best friend feel super special on his birthday. His note can be read as:
"An unmatchable father … a rock solid husband … a loving brother and an indispensable friend …. He is all that and so much more …Love you so much Bhai … may every Mannat of yours get answered and the abundant love you rightfully deserve keep coming your way…. Happy birthday!"

Everyone is aware of the kind of friendship Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan share with each other. That is the reason why it's extremely hard to digest the fact that there was a time when they had maintained a distance from each other. In his memoir, An Unsuitable Boy, Karan had recalled the only time when a rough patch hit his friendship with Shah Rukh. He had written:
"Shah Rukh is a very possessive friend. I think I may have hurt him when I made a film without him. And I think I got hurt because when I did, I felt he didn't give me that paternal or fraternal feeling that I had from him otherwise. I think we were two hurt friends for no reason."
Further, the filmmaker, Karan johar had added that it was the success party of the film, Piku, where he had hugged his BFF, Shah Rukh Khan, seeing him after a long time. Karan had also opened up about the beautiful moment of brotherhood that he had shared with Shah Rukh. Recalling the same, he had written:
"I hugged him instinctively and said, 'I've missed you.' And he said, 'You've no idea how much I've missed you.' We had this moment."
