Once, Shah Rukh Khan claimed that his father, Taj Mohammed Khan, was the youngest freedom fighter of India. However, netizens slammed him for misquoting the facts in an old video.
Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most popular actors in the Hindi film industry. On the personal front, he is married to the love of his life, Gauri Khan, whom he met when they were school kids. The duo is blessed with three children, a daughter, Suhana Khan and sons, Aryan and AbRam Khan. SRK has always inspired his fans with his rags-to-riches story and how he managed to become 'King Khan'.
In a video doing the rounds online, Shah Rukh Khan was heard talking about his illustrious family. The actor said that his grandfather, Iftikhar Ahmed, was the chief engineer of Karnataka, and he built the Mangalore port. He added that his father, Taj Mohammed Khan, was the youngest freedom fighter of India, and he was jailed when he was 16 or 19. Talking about it, SRK said:
“My grandfather was Iftikhar Ahmed. He was the chief engineer of the Karnataka state, and he built the Mangalore port. He was educated in London, and was one of the top engineers of our country. My father was the youngest freedom fighter of this country, and he was jailed when he was 16 or 19. He had a lot of friends. One of his close associates, maybe related to him, was General Shah Nawaz Khan, who was one of the leaders of the Indian National Army with Subhas Chandra Bose.”
Speaking along the same lines, Shah Rukh Khan mentioned that he has a very interesting family. While his father was a lawyer and a freedom fighter, his mother was a magistrate and a social worker. The actor also revealed that his sister is an MA in psychology. He added:
“They’re very interesting, my family is very interesting. My father was a lawyer and a freedom fighter. My mother was a magistrate and a social worker, my sister is an MA in psychology. I have an eccentric, strange family.”
Shah Rukh Khan's revelations about his illustrious career garnered a lot of attention. Soon enough, the actor's video was shared on Reddit, which amused the netizens. A section of social media users pointed out that Shaheed Baji Rout (12 years) and Khudiram Bose (18 years) were the youngest freedom fighters of India. Slamming Shah Rukh, a netizen penned, "Youngest freedom fighter? Khudiram Bose and Baji Raut are rolling in their graves. Why do you need to resort to hyperbole..being a freedom fighter is glorious enough in every which way."

Once, in a throwback interview with The Times Of India, Shah Rukh Khan spoke about why he chose Delhi to build his late parents’ graveyards and shared the fond memories he has with Delhi. The actor revealed that whenever he sits on a plane to come to Delhi, he always feels that his mother and father are there. Talking about the same, SRK added that he visits them at the graveyard late at night. He further added that though he has become a Mumbaikar, Delhi can never get out of him because his parents are there, and that is his biggest memory.
