"Shah Rukh Khan used to live in my house. When he returned to Mumbai after his mother died and he said 'Let's do a film', I had to say 'yes'. Until then, he preferred to work only in TV. He was against films. When I asked him the reason, he said, 'I can’t do films because I’ll have to hug girls in films. And Gauri has said no'! I told him 'Ok. You come and stay with me. We’ll figure out life'."
Viveck also revealed that Shah Rukh decided to do films as it was his mother's dream to see him on the big screen, and she wanted him to be the superstar. Recalling the good old days, Viveck was quoted as saying:
"But after his mother passed away, he decided to work in films as it was his mother’s dream that he should become a superstar. Every night, we would sit at the Taj President Hotel, Cuffe Parade, which is next to my house and brainstorm on what we should make."
Earlier, in an interview with fashion designers, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla for NDTV Good Times, Gauri revealed that she wanted her husband, Shah Rukh Khan's films to flop. In one of the segments, Sandeep said that she must have stood with Shah Rukh like a rock. Gauri denied this and revealed that she wanted his films to flop. Gauri further revealed the reason behind it, and said that she wasn't happy about coming to Bombay and the whole filmy world was different for her. She was quoted as saying:
"Well, actually, that's not true. Because I was not too happy about him coming to Bombay. I actually didn't even know when he became a star. It was very shocking for me first to be here, and films and everything. It was very, very difficult. I actually didn't want his films to do well. I thought if it flopped, I should go back to Delhi. Because when you are so young and I got married at 21. Films, how and what happens, everything was so new. For me it was like nothing should run and everything should be a flop."
Well, thank God, Shah Rukh listened to his heart and became a movie star, otherwise, so many fans would have not known the true meaning of love. What do you think?
