Shah Rukh Khan once said that he wanted his son to enjoy everything in life and be a 'playboy'. Years later, the actor shared how he taught his son to respect women.
Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan are amongst the 'It' couples in Tinseltown. The couple, who has been married for over 30 years, has three children, Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam. Time and again, the doting parents share several fond anecdotes about their children. At present, amid the Kolkata sexual assault and murder case, SRK's old comment related to his elder son has surfaced once again in the media.
Recently, a Redditor took to the discussion platform and shared an old clip of Shah Rukh and Gauri's interview when they appeared on Simi Garewal's talk show way back in 1997. During the conversation, when the host said that the actor was going to spoil his son, Aryan, SRK said:
"I have just told him (Aryan Khan) that he can run after girls, can smoke as much as he wants, can do drugs, can womanize… he should enjoy everything."

Further, Shah Rukh Khan sarcastically said that he had told all his heroines that when they would have daughters, his son would run after them. He also added that he wanted complaints from all of them asking him to keep Aryan away from their daughters' lives. SRK said:
"I have told all my heroines that you will have daughters, and my son will be running after them. Every day I want complaints from all of them saying, ‘Please keep your son out of our houses and our daughters’ lives. I want him to spoil the whole of the city. All the girls. I want him to be a playboy."

Soon after this video went viral on Reddit, netizens started penning down their thoughts on Shah Rukh Khan's response. One user said, "Srk always says weird stuff in the name of sarcasm and "humour." I never found him witty. Most of the time, he is spewing stupid things." Another one wrote, "His biggest advantage has been that he's been portrayed as the lesser evil. Whenever you criticize him, people start comparing him with Salman. He is misogynist and vile but behind closed doors."

Long after such a statement, while Shah Rukh Khan was promoting his 2013 action-comedy, Chennai Express, he talked about women's safety in Kolkata. Back then, the actor was the state ambassador, and when reporters asked his opinion on whether the city was unsafe for women, SRK was heard saying:
"You can’t pick on a city because it’s easiest to blame the system…The whole country, the whole world, actually has issues as far as the safety of women is concerned. We can always turn around and say that it’s sad…but I think the younger people, and I feel I am young, we must change the concept of how we bring up our children at home. The thing is the mentality of not telling the boys how to be gentle, good and respectful. So I have started doing that."
Further, adding to his statement, Shah Rukh Khan disclosed that when he talks to Aryan about girls, they don't talk about girlfriends but about how he should treat women gently. He also shared that he taught him how to respect women and warned him that he wouldn't be forgiven if he did anything atrocious. SRK was quoted as saying:
"When I talk to my son about girls, I don’t talk about girlfriends. I tell him: ‘Don’t break a girl’s heart, treat it gently, and there is no way that you can look at an atrocity done on a woman, and if you do that, you will not be forgiven by your father and mother’. So we should start from there"
Meanwhile, around 2017, Shah Rukh once again highlighted the importance of respecting women during a charity event. The actor mentioned that it's the responsibility of fathers and mothers to teach their sons about respecting women. Meanwhile, during an interview with Femina, SRK revealed that he had warned his sons, Aryan and AbRam, never to hurt a woman; otherwise, he might as well behead them.
