While watching the football World Cup finals with his kids, Shah Rukh Khan recalled a memory with his mother, late Lateef Fatima Khan.
The entire world witnessed the historic FIFA World Cup Final between Argentina and France on December 18, 2022. And the king of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan too shared his excitement of watching the same with his kids in Qatar. An ardent football fan, Shah Rukh Khan was promoting his upcoming film, Pathaan and shared an anecdote from his childhood as he watched the World Cup final.
Talking to his Twitter handle, Shah Rukh Khan recalled watching football World Cup with his mother, late Lateef Fatima Khan on a small TV and now experiencing the same excitement with his own kids. Calling it the best World Cup final, Shah Rukh tweeted:
“We are living in the time of one of the best World Cup Finals ever. I remember watching WC with my mom on a small tv...now the same excitement with my kids!! And thank and #Messi for making us all believe in talent, hard work and dreams!!”

Shah Rukh Khan is an ardent football fan and there is no doubt about it. On December 17, 2022, Shah Rukh hosted an #AskSRK session on Twitter and one of his fans asked who is he rooting for in FIFA World Cup, the actor replied:
“Arre yaar the heart says Messi no?? But Mbappa is a treat to watch also."
Ahead of the World Cup final, Shah Rukh Khan sat for a live interaction with former footballer, Wayne Rooney. As Shah Rukh was promoting Pathaan in Qatar, Shah Rukh had a little fun session with Wayne. After speaking about the film, Wayne also learnt Shah Rukh’s signature step and nailed it.

During the interaction, when Wayne asked SRK about his film, Pathaan and the character he is playing, the handsome actor said:
“Pathaan is the guy you call last minute when you are all tied up and you can't find a solution. For me, if you don't mind me saying, if Pathaan is to be equated to any footballer in the world, before or after or later, it will always be you. You are the tough guy."
On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan is making his comeback to the silver screen with the film, Pathaan after a hiatus of 4 years. In the film, which also stars, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Shah Rukh is portraying the role of a spy and the much-awaited film is all set to hit the theatres on January 25, 2022.
