In a throwback interview, Shah Rukh Khan opened up about rumours of his alleged extra-marital affair with Priyanka Chopra.
He is every woman’s dream, no matter what age. Shah Rukh Khan is synonymous with love, romance, and honesty. He is one of the most passionate and respected actors in Hindi cinema, who has won millions of hearts over the years with his wit, charm, and intelligence. The actor married his teenage crush, Gauri Chibber, and the couple is proud parents to Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam.
Just like his honesty towards his craft, Shah Rukh’s dedication to Gauri is unquestionable. Despite working with all the gorgeous actresses, Shah Rukh’s name was hardly linked to any of his co-stars. Many people tag him as a one-woman man, and his wife, Gauri, often validates this.
However, there was a time when the handsome actor was linked to actress, Priyanka Chopra, which came as a big disappointment to his fans. During the making of Don 2 in 2011, rumour mills had it that Shah Rukh and Priyanka were head over heels in love with one another. They were spotted together at public events and on late-night outings.
Despite all the murmurs, Shah Rukh kept calm and never reacted. But, once in an old interview, Shah Rukh was asked about the rumours of his affair with Priyanka, and the actor didn’t let the question go without answering it. Like a true gentleman, Shah Rukh talked about it and said Priyanka is one of the closest people in his life. In his words:
“To me, what is most disturbing is the fact that a lady who's worked with me has been questioned, and somewhere down the line, she's not being shown the kind of respect I show her or all the women. I think it's a little disrespectful. I'm extremely sorry about that. Sorry means... it's not directly because of anything I've done but because she's my friend. She's one of the closest friends I have, very close to my heart, and always will be."
In the same interview, Shah Rukh also mentioned that she was a little girl who began her journey in front of him. Revealing how the rumours soil a friendship, Shah Rukh said:
“She was a little who started her Miss World crowning with me and you know we have shared some of the nicest moments on screen, off it. It is unfortunate and sad for me to think that a friendship gets a little soiled.”

Multiple reports state that Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra's alleged affair started during the filming of Don 2. Back then, there were strong rumours that romance was brewing between Shah Rukh and Priyanka. The speculations further claimed that Shah Rukh’s wife, Gauri Khan, was aware of it and was even planning to divorce her hubby for the same. However, after much thought, Gauri took hold of the situation and forbade her husband to never work with Priyanka Chopra again.
