Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are rightfully the two contemporary legends in Bollywood. With a career span of almost equal duration, the duo have served some blockbuster hits at the box office. Moreover, they have rocked the celluloid jointly by being a part of films together, such as Karan Arjun, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Tiger 3 among others. While the two actors over the years have maintained cordial relations with each other, there was a time when the duo were pitted against one another and even had a cold war. Shah Rukh Khan’s witty reaction on being reminded to wish Salman Khan on his birthday

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Shah Rukh Khan hosted his famous ‘AskSRK’ session for his fans. Among all the other questions that he received, one of his fans quickly quipped the actor to write a few words for his co-actor and colleague, Salman Khan, as he turned 58 on December 27, 2023. Replying to the fan in his usual witty manner, SRK responded that he has already wished the actor personally. Moreover, he added that he didn’t want to do it on social media because its personal. Dropping a picture of Salman, SRK said:

“I know and I have wished him. I don’t do it on social media because it’s personal na?? Waise yeh picture bhai ki awesome hai!! #Dunki”

Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan’s infamous fight that led to years of them having a cold war

Despite being colleagues for so long, it was back in July 2008 when Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan had the bitterest war of words at a party, which left a lasting impression on their equation, as they ended up nursing a cold war for many years. It all happened when the actors graced one of the parties hosted by Katrina Kaif, on her birthday. Reportedly, a drunken Salman accused SRK of being selfish. When SRK retaliated and made a comment on Salman’s hosted TV show, Dus Ka Dum, the latter threatened the former of punching his face. With things getting heated up quickly, it was Shah Rukh’s wife, Gauri, who took the immediate call of exiting the venue with her husband.

A few months post this infamous fight, Shah Rukh Khan, in an interview, opened up about the matter and revealed his side of the story. He tagged Salman as a child and clearly stated that there was nothing common between the two of them. Clarifying that they didn’t have friendship left, Shah Rukh had said:

“I think like a father, while Salman thinks like a child! There is not much common between us, we think differently, we speak differently. We have spent a good time together. But with time, that fact has got blurred. We are happy in our worlds. If we come together it is good. If we don’t it’s even better. We are not friends.”

Salman Khan once talked about his off-screen equation with Shah Rukh Khan

Previously, in an interview with ANI, Salman Khan opened up about his off-screen equation with Shah Rukh Khan. He mentioned sharing a great friendship with SRK personally. Further, Salman added that their on-screen chemistry is best only because they share a great equation off-screen. In his words:

“Our off-screen chemistry is better than our on-screen chemistry. When the on-screen chemistry is so good, you can understand the off-screen chemistry.”
