The latest one to join the list is none other than the most handsome and not anymore eligible bachelor, Shaheer Sheikh. For the unversed, on November 24, 2020, Shaheer had taken to his IG handle to announce the news of his engagement with Ruchikaa Kapoor. He had shared an adorable picture with Ruchikaa, where he could be seen holding her hand while she had laughed her heart out flaunting her ring. Along with the beautiful picture, Shaheer had penned his excitement and it could be read as “#TuHasdiRave excited for the rest of my life... #ikigai.” Shaheer and Ruchikaa have been in a relationship for almost one-and-a-half years now, and the two have finally tied the knot.
After his engagement announcement, Shaheer Sheikh has finally tied the knot with Ruchikaa Kapoor a few days ago in a court marriage setup due to the pandemic. After the court marriage, Shaheer and Ruchikaa flew down to Shaheer’s hometown in Jammu for a small ceremony, and later another informal ceremony was held at Ruchikaa’s residence in Mumbai. Post-wedding, in an interview with the Bombay Times, Shaheer shared that he has found his right companion in Ruchikaa Kapoor and he is looking forward to his life with her. He said, “Ruchikaa is honest when it comes to her feelings. The best part about our relationship is that we are friends first. Being an actor, I have to pretend in front of the camera all the time, but I have found a partner with whom I get to be myself. I’ve always said that I’m a ‘wanderer’ and I’ve finally found the right companion. I am looking forward to my never-ending travels with her.”
Ruchikaa also talked about what drew her towards Shaheer and said, “It is Shaheer’s simplicity and humility that drew me towards him. It’s rare to find someone who keeps it real and believes in the goodness of people. We come from different backgrounds, but instead of focusing on our differences, we chose to celebrate them. We may make little sense to the world, but we make a lot of sense to each other.”
The dating rumours of Shaheer and Ruchikaa had gone berserk on October 25, 2020, when Shaheer had posted a picture of his ‘girl’, Ruchikaa on his IG handle. There were rumours of Shaheer dating Ruchikaa from some time and this post had come as an Insta-confirmation on the speculations. Shaheer had captioned Ruchikaa’s pictures as “Mommy there is something in the backyard… #ikigai #madMe #girlwithcurls.” On the second picture which he had posted of Ruchikaa, he had written, “Never mind it’s my girl...” atop it. On November 5, Shaheer Sheikh and Ruchikaa Kapoor had posted a confirmation picture on their respective social media handles, with a tongue-in-cheek caption. Sharing the first-ever picture together, Shaheer had written, “Here you go... after all the morphed pictures, thought of saving you all some time. #ikigai #madMe #girlwiththecurls.” Ruchikaa had reposted the picture with a heart and infinity emoji. If you had noticed, Shaheer had used the hashtag ‘ikigai’ in his posts related to Ruchikaa. It is a Japanese word for ‘reason to live’, indirectly confessing his love and commitment to his ladylove, Ruchikaa.
