Ever since Shahid Kapoor embraced parenthood for the first time with Misha Kapoor, he has time and again proved to be a doting dad, be it enjoying some precious moments with Missy at home or taking her to the sets to spend more quality time with her. Shahid and his lovely wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor became parents for the second time on September 5, 2018, when they welcomed a baby boy into their lives. Just like the Shahid Kapoor took months off as paternity leaves at the time when Misha was born, he has planned to take September off for his newborn, Zain Kapoor too. Shahid wants to be there for Mira, Misha and Zain and wants to make the most of it with his family. But since his film, Batti Gul Meter Chalu is slated for a September release, Shahid was expected to be a part of the film promotions.
Shahid was all set to appear on India’s Best Dramebaaaz to promote Batti Gul Meter Chalu, but he had to cancel the shoot to be by his family’s side. According to Pinkvilla reports, a source was quoted as saying, "Shahid hasn’t slept a wink for the past 30-35 hours as he is taking care of his daughter Misha who is keeping unwell. He even cancelled his shoot for India’s Best Dramebaaaz as he wanted to be there for Mira, who is currently recovering post-pregnancy, Misha and their baby boy Zain. The team of Batti Gul Meter Chalu also didn’t go."
Shahid Kapoor is setting the dad goals right on point, and daddy or rather family duties are the priority for him always. Shahid is on his paternity leave to take care of Mira, Misha and Zain, and soon after that he will start shooting for the Hindi remake of the Telegu film, Arjun Reddy (2017). Recently in an interview with a media portal, Shahid talked about the constant media scrutiny on the celeb kids, and said, "These days you get noticed a lot, it has all changed. I think the kids who are starting out and who are new should worry about it. I don't get scared by over exposure, I have been here since 15 years." He further added, "If I don't post the pictures of Misha, somebody will click her and that is my reality. I wish I could draw a line... I would have drawn it long back. People should draw a line. Children when they are in natural spaces they should not be made so conscious of themselves. It is part of my job and I know what comes with it. I am doing my best to find comfort with it."
Earlier talking about paternity leaves to Mid-Day, Shahid was quoted as saying, "During Misha's birth [in 2016], I took a couple of months off. This time too, I was negotiating to take a month-long break, but things didn't work out. I will get only a week off from work. It is too short a duration, but such are the circumstances." He further said, "I am self-employed, so I think I have more freedom [to take leaves as per my convenience]. If I don't want to work for a certain period, I can do that. Having said that, life is all about finding the right balance."
On September 7, 2018, Shahid Kapoor took to his Twitter handle and revealed the name of his newborn baby boy. Sharing the name of Junior Kapoor, Shahid tweeted, “Zain Kapoor is here and we feel complete. Thank you for all the wishes and blessings. We are overjoyed and so grateful. Love to all.”
In an interview with a media portal, second-time-grandma, Neelima Azeem talked about her grandson, Zain Kapoor and shared, “He is gloriously good-looking. I see a bit of everyone in him. He will turn out to be as handsome as his father and chacha (Ishaan).” Further talking about the two-year-old Misha, she went on to say, “Misha and I form a great energetic team, we have so much of ‘We time’ together. Misha is also learning dancing, kathak seekh rahi hai. And after Misha and now Zain, I have so much of love, gratitude and forgiveness in my heart. I feel so good and happy.” (Also Read: Shahid Kapoor And Mira Rajput Choose An Arabic Name For Their Newborn Son, It Means Beautiful)
