Shahid Kapoor speaks about his experience of living with his wifey, Mira's parents during lockdown, and adds about their shared spiritual faith.
Shahid Kapoor is one of the most handsome actors of his generation. Son of veteran actors, Pankaj Kapoor and Neelima Azeem, he has carved his own niche in the film industry. He made his debut with the film, Ishq Vishk in the year 2003. Ever since, there has been no looking back for him. Known for his chocolate boy looks, Shahid, always made women go weak on their knees. In his personal life, Shahid is happily married to his wifey, Mira Rajput. For the unversed, the duo had tied the knot in an arranged marriage in 2015. They are blessed with a daughter, Misha and a son, Zain.
In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Shahid Kapoor opened up about his experience of living with his wife, Mira Rajput’s parents during the phase of lockdown. He recalled how he had gone to Punjab to live for two years, and that was when they lived together with Mira’s parents. He added that he cherished every moment with them and also shared the same spiritual faith like them. In his words:
“We went and lived in Punjab for two years, with them for a few months, and on own during Covid. So, I spent a lot of time with them… Her side of the family is very normal, and that’s something I cherish about them. We do share a spiritual faith, but we met via family. We were aware of each other’s spiritual faith.”

In the same interview, Shahid also revealed his first meeting with Mira and shared how they gradually overcame the feeling of awkwardness with one another due to their age gap. He added that Mira was never shy, and they spoke at length for hours. Moreover, he also heaped praises on his in-laws and added that he feels fortunate to have met people like them. He mentioned:
“She’s all of 20 years old, she’s normal, and she really doesn’t care. And you can make out the difference, when you meet people who are acting like they don’t care, but are very affected. She was more interested in figuring out what she felt about me as a person, and we spoke for seven hours, and then I met her family, and her family was very classy, very dignified, very normal. I’m fortunate to have in-laws like that.”
In the same interview with Mid-Day, Shahid also spoke about another aspect of his personal life, that concerned his ex-girlfriend, Kareena Kapoor. He mentioned that when his kissing picture with Kareena was leaked to the media, it ended up taking a toll on his career. He emphasised that he was all but 24 at that time, and he felt that his privacy was affected and that he could do nothing to protect it.

In an earlier interview with YouTuber, Ranveer Allahabadia, Shahid Kapoor had opened up on his arranged marriage with Mira Rajput. He revealed that he did not choose her, but things happened as per destiny. Moreover, he spoke about the 13 year age gap between them and how they gradually got along despite it. In his words:
“I didn’t choose her. Maybe you should ask why she chose me. I was 13-and-a-half years older than her. We met through family, and we were unassuming enough to be open to meeting each other. We got along from the time we met, and it just happened. It was meant to happen. When I look back even I wonder, yeh kaise ho gaya?”
