Shahid Kapoor once recalled the time when he called up his wife, Mira Rajput's father to ask for his forgiveness right after the birth of their daughter, Misha.
Shahid Kapoor has spread the charms of his impeccable acting skills ever since he debuted in the world of glitz and glam in 2003. He has been the lead actor in popular films like Ishq Vishk, Vivah, Jab We Met, Kaminey, Udta Punjab, and many more. In his personal life, Shahid got married to Mira Rajput in 2015, and together they welcomed their two kids, a daughter, Misha, in 2016 and a son, Zain, in 2018.
In one of his old interviews, Shahid talked about welcoming his little girl, Misha, into their lives. He revealed that after he got to know that he and Mira had welcomed a girl into this world, he immediately called up his father-in-law seeking his forgiveness. In an interview with Komal Nahata, Shahid mentioned that he was very happy when he got the news of Misha’s birth, and his next action was to call up Mira’s father. He said:
“I was so happy, and then I was so scared because it was a daughter. And having a girl makes you feel so like ‘oh god’ because I had just gotten married and the first thing, I did was I called Mira’s father and said, ‘Dad, if I did anything to trouble you in the shaadi then I am really sorry.’”

Further, Shahid reminisced about the moment and said that the next thirty years of his life flashed before his eyes. He recalled his thoughts back when Misha was born and said that someday she would get married to a guy, and be with him. Hence, thinking of all this, he got scared and immediately called up his father-in-law. Shahid further added:
“Because now that I have just understood that I have a daughter and one day, she will get married and some guy will be with her. At that moment the next 30 years flashed in front of me.”
During their interaction, Shahid mentioned feeling blessed that he embraced fatherhood by welcoming their daughter, Misha into their lives. He said that having a daughter is a very special feeling, and revealed that the couple always wanted a daughter. Shahid also mentioned that since the birth of Misha, he has become a domestic person. He said:
“It’s amazing. Having a daughter is very special. Both me and Mira wanted a daughter. Now I am fully domesticated. Pehle main thoda ‘bhow bhow’ karta tha, but now I am fully domesticated.”

In a chat with Neha Dhupia on her podcast, No Filter Neha, the actor opened up about quitting smoking. Shahid gave up smoking when his daughter, Misha was born. He revealed that he used to hide from Misha and smoke, and suddenly, one day, this hit him, and that day he decided to quit smoking once and for all. He said:
"When I used to smoke, I would hide from my daughter and smoke. That is actually the reason I gave up. One day, while I was hiding and having my smoke, I told myself that I am not going to do this forever and that is actually the day I decided to quit smoking."
On his professional front, Shahid is basking in the success of his rom-com, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, alongside Kriti Sanon. While the film witnessed a decent start at the box office, it eventually picked up the pace and has done a business of over Rs 50 crore in India.
