Shalini Passi revealed that her mother would put red chilli powder in her mouth is she abused or said bad things.
Shalini Passi is winning hearts with her stint in the Netflix series, Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives, wherein she made her debut. Shalini's soft-spoken nature, fiery personality, and go-getter nature left everyone in awe. Shalini has been sharing her life with her fans. During one such interaction, Shalini revealed her childhood incident and how her mother would discipline her.
While today's parents would not agree with a strict parenting technique, people who grew up in the '90s are familiar with it. Shalini was no different, as her mother took a strict approach to disciplining her, especially when it came to her language. 
In an interview with Deepak Pareek, Shalini introduced herself in Hindi and said, "Main Dilli se hoon.." However, the host prompted her to finish her statement, which ended with an abusive word. For the unversed, it is Delhi's slang talk. Shalini was unable to understand it, and said:
"Mein Dilli se hu aur Dilli mere dil mein basti hai. What else do you want me to say?"
Further, when the interviewer asked her if she ever abused, Shalini denied it. She stated that she is sensitive when it comes to picking habits. So, if someone digs their nose, she will tell them straight away. The interviewer also asked her if she had never hurled abuses in her life. Shalini stated that everyone has at some point in their lifetime.
Recalling her childhood, Shalini revealed that her mother was very strict and would put chilli powder in her mouth if she said anything bad. She was quoted as saying:
"Of course we all have at some point in our life, but I don’t. My mother used to put chilli powder in my mouth if I said bad things."
In the same interview, Shalini talked about being a mother herself at the age of twenty. She shared that she would get to the toy store and would get as excited as her son. Shalini added that she would take her son, Robin, to Disneyland, and they would go mad on the rides.
Shalini also added that she and her son learnt to skate ice together. She then taught him skiing and scuba diving, and they grew up together. Shalini also revealed that for a long time, he addressed her with her name, and it was much later that he started calling her mom.
