Recently, Shalini Passi opened up about the fame from her stint on Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives. She said being the 'it' girl was never part of her plan; she just wanted to be true to herself.
Art connoisseur-turned-reality TV star, Shalini Passi recently appeared at the Business Today’s Most Powerful Women in Business 2024 event. Her Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives castmates, Neelam Kothari, Seema Sajdeh, Maheep Kapoor, and Bhavana Pandey joined her for the event in Mumbai on November 8. During the session, Shalini Passi got candid about the fame that had come her way since the show, confessing that she had never thought about becoming the ‘it’ girl.
48-year-old artist, philanthropist, and Delhi socialitie, Shalini Passi, emerged as the breakout star of the revamped reality show, Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives. However, the diva confessed that she had never gone on the show with the hopes of becoming the ‘it’ girl.
Instead, Shalini had always focused on sticking to what she believes in, emphasising the importance of trusting in oneself. At the event, Shalini confessed that she had thought people wouldn’t even like her style, saying:
"I never wanted to be the 'it' girl because I am not the 'it' girl. It's my personal style. I was just having fun. I thought people might not like it because it's a little maximalist. The makeup artist told me not to put so many clips, but I just wanted to."
Shalini Passi further expressed her gratitude to the Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives castmates for making her journey into reality TV easier. The artist lauded the other stars for the comfort they had provided, which was what convinced her to say yes to the show in the first place. In her words:
"These amazing women out there made it so easy for us - they have worked for 5–6 years. Had I not known them for years and been comfortable, I wouldn't have done it."
Shalini Passi also opened up about her decision to venture into the world of OTT. According to the patron of the arts, that world was entirely new to her and that is why she wanted to dive into it. Shalini said:
"I live for new experiences. I am more inclined to art and design for my life. It was exciting to be in front of the camera. OTT, camera - it was new for me."
Shalini also stated that being on the show was a learning experience as it was her first time working for someone else rather than herself. According to Shalini, this taught her more about responsibility and made her ‘grow up a little bit more.’
What do you think about Shalini Passi saying she was just having fun and never wanted to be the ‘it’ girl?
