Recently, in an interview, Sharad Malhotra praised his ex, Divyanka Tripathi and shared that he would love to go on a double date with her and their respective partners.
Sharad Malhotra and Divyanka Tripathi had risen to fame from the daily soap, Banoo Main Teri Dulhann. It was during their stint on the show, that the duo had fallen for each other and had dated for eight long years. However, things did not work out and they had parted ways. The reason behind their breakup, being Sharad's commitment phobia when it came to marriage. Though they had dated for quite some time, Sharad had got cold feet when Divyanka had wanted to marry him. Both Sharad and Divyanka are happily married today. While Sharad Malhotra had got married to Ripci Bhatia, Divyanka had tied the knot with Vivek Dahiya, her co-star from the show, Yeh Hain Mohabbatein.

The television industry has seen quite a few controversial star break-ups which left many of us shocked, but the one that none of us could digest was the breakup of Sharad Malhotra and Divyanka Tripathi. Sharad and Divyanka had become a household name through their show, Banoo Main Teri Dulhann. Even after the show ended, the duo has excelled in their respective shows, which they were a part of. However, after their breakup, Sharad had accepted his mistake and also knew that it was too late to realise as it was already past five years. On the other hand, Divyanka had expressed that women are such fools to do so much for the man they love, without even thinking about themselves, once.
In a recent interview with radio host, Siddharth Kannan, Sharad praised Divyanka for her work ethics and called her 'one of the finest actresses television has seen in a really long time.' The actor also said, "The way she conducts herself in public aur apne aap ko jis tarah carry karti hain (the ways she carries herself), great yarr. Fantastic!" Sharad also stated that he is happy seeing Divyanka happy now, "Bohot khush hain, mujhe bohot khushi hoti hain yeh dekh kar." He also revealed that he has been in no contact with Divyanka for the past six years but he was always open to the idea of working with her.

When asked about having to go on a double date with his ex, Divyanka and their respective partners, Sharad said that he would love to because they both have moved on and are happy in their married life. Though he has no idea as to when that will happen yet Sharad is hopeful of going on a dinner with his wife, Ripci Bhatia, his ex, Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya and her husband, Vivek Dahiya. He said, "Bilkul! mujhe pata nahi who kis sann mein hoga, but definitely umeed hain ki kabhi ho yaar. I think bygones are bygones. We have accepted life beautifully and have moved on. Hum sabki shaadiyaan ho chuki hain, hum khush hain. It's good to have a nice dinner once in a while. Jab bhi ho, agar kabhi ho toh." As Sharad has tried to mend ways with Divyanka, let's see how the actress reacts to his wish.
