Folk singer, Sharda Sinha is admitted in the ICU of the AIIMS hospital, weeks after her husband's death. Fans and family are praying for her.
Sharda Singha, who is known for her folk songs and has given her voice to superhit Bollywood songs, is going through a rough phase. The Padma Bhushan awardee has been admitted to the ICU of the AIIMS Hospital. According to reports, her health condition started deteriorating within weeks of her husband, Brajkishore Sinha's death due to brain haemorrhage.
According to a report in the Navbharat Times, Sharda was rushed to the ICU after she faced difficulties in eating and drinking. However, the hospital has yet to issue a statement regarding the ongoing buzz. However, fans have been praying for her good health.
A report by News18 claimed that Mahammrityunjay Jaap is ongoing at Mahadev temple in Gopalganj, where Sharda has a special connection. In fact, prayers are being offered at Thawe Maa Bhavani's court for her better health. Her fans even took to social media to pray for her speedy recovery.
Dr. Brij Bhushan Sinha suffered a head injury in September 2024, after he had fallen at his home. This resulted in brain haemorrhage. While the doctors of Patna Hospital did their best and placed him on a ventilator, he passed away on September 22, 2024.
Sharda Sinha always expressed gratitude towards her husband for supporting her musical journey. Once, in a media interaction, Sharda revealed that her husband knew about her deep love for music. He was the one who convinced her mother-in-law to let her pursue her passion after their marriage in 1970.
Sharda Sinha lived with her in-laws in Begusarai, where people were conservative about their daughters and daughters-in-law. Her mother-in-law disapproved of women singing outside the home in public. She was allowed to sing devotional songs at home, but she was prohibited from singing in public.
Just days after her wedding, the village head approached Sharda's father-in-law and requested that he allow her to perform devotional songs at the temple. Her father-in-law agreed, but her mother-in-law didn't approve. At the same time, her husband stepped in and convinced her mother to allow his wife, Sharda, to sing.
Sharda Sinha is a popular folk singer from Bihar. She has been singing superhit songs and was the voice behind some of Salman Khan's famous songs in the '90s, including Kahe Toh Se Sajna and Babul. She has even sung for Anurag Kashyap's film Gangs Of Wasseypur (Part II). Sharda Sinha was also awarded the reputed Padma Shri award in 1991 and Padma Bhushan in 2018.
