Shark Tank India Season 4 premiered on January 6, 2025. The stage showcases the most talented entrepreneurs from all over the country as they try to get investment for their businesses. Over the years, the show has become a much-beloved business reality television series, and every teaser intrigues the audience. The show, like its previous seasons, is filled with lighthearted banter, drama, and some incredible brand deals.
The recent episode of Shark Tank India 4 featured the co-founder of Burger Bae, Rohan Kashyap. The entrepreneur had planned a big surprise for his girlfriend and business partner, Janvi Sikaria. Rohan had asked his business partner to become his life partner in front of the judges' panel. However, his plan was thwarted by the show’s makers, who ensured it never materialized.
In an interview with The Times Of India, Rohan revealed that he had secretly planned to propose to Janvi during their pitch, but the production team found out and was strictly against it. He added that they made him sign a written agreement stating he would not do anything like that. The makers took extra precautions to ensure there were no attempts at the proposal and even frisked the founder before he stepped into the tank. He stated:
"I was planning to propose to Janvi on the tank. But somehow, the Shark Tank India team got wind of my plan. They even made me sign a written agreement that I wouldn't do any such thing. At the end of the day, it's a show about entrepreneurship, and pulling off something like this would have taken away from that. I was even frisked by the team before entering the tank to make sure there's no ring."
In the same conversation, Rohan revealed that it was his dream to come on Shark Tank India. However, when he had to face the camera, he was a little uncomfortable, but the team helped him prepare. His girlfriend, Janvi, on the other hand, was at ease as she had previously experienced the same thing during her stint on Splitsvilla. He stated:
"The entire experience was unreal. I have been manifesting this for almost two years. My wallpaper had been Shark Tank India for the longest time. We didn’t get a call initially, and I was paranoid because we were among the last ones to be selected."
During their pitch, Janvi expressed her admiration for the Shark Tank judge, co-founder and CMO of BoAt lifestyle, Aman Gupta. She called him her favourite shark. In response to that, Rohan humorously revealed that Janvi was his girlfriend. He added that Janvi was their customer and later joined as an intern while studying luxury brand management. Burger Bae entered the tank seeking Rs 1 crore for 2.5 per cent equity. They secured a deal from Aman. Eventually, they secured a deal with Aman Gupta, co-founder and CEO of People Group, Anupam Mittal, and co-founder of Snapdeal and Titan Capital, Kunal Bahl, at Rs. 2 crores for 20 per cent equity.
