The actress revealed that when she was approached for the song, she was in an engineering college, and belonging to a family of academicians, her father was completely against the song and his daughter being a part of it. The actress said, “I was in college then and I come from a family of academicians, so my parents told me to focus on my studies. But I wanted to do it because I was getting paid for it. I earned Rs 7,000 from that song, and I wanted to see myself on TV.” She later shared that her father was completely against it initially, thus she had first taken her mother into confidence and then they had teamed up to convince her father.

Shefali also talked about Parag's stand on the same and had added, "He completely stood by the decision and he told me you have to become a mother so whether you give birth to a child or bring him/her home, it will be your decision and I will always support you. I want to give that child a good home, education and a good life because God has given me everything."
