Shehnaaz Gill revealed that she ran away from her home to become famous in Bollywood. She also talked about Indian families.
Shehnaaz Gill, who introduced herself as 'Punjab Ki Katrina Kaif' in Bigg Boss 13, has seen a fair share of struggles in her life. Shehnaaz was only 22 years old when she decided to leave her family. Shehnaaz ran away, blocked her parents’ phone numbers and started to live in a PG. Though she used to earn only Rs. 15,000 a month, her dreams were big enough to keep her going.
On the Senior Citizen Special episode of Indian Idol 13, Shehnaaz Gill graced the show. The gorgeousness is known for lending her melodious voice to Punjabi songs and appearing in music videos. During the show, she called one of the contestants, Debosmita Roy a lucky one as she has supportive parents. Recalling her own story, Shehnaaz Gill accepted how she ran away from her family in her younger days. She said:
“There are very few families in our country who support working women. Mai apne sapnon ko poora karne ke liye ghar se bhaag gayi thi. Debosmita, you are very lucky to have such supportive parents. Always stand by them and make them proud.”

Shehnaaz Gill rose to fame during her stint in Bigg Boss 13. From being bubbly and fierce to being a hopeless romantic, many people fell in love with the different versions of Shehnaaz. Today she is blooming and is about to make a big Bollywood debut with Salman Khan in Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. On the stage of Indian Idol, Shehnaaz revealed how proud she felt after taking her mom on her first International trip to Dubai. She said:
“I recently took my mother for her first international trip to Dubai and the feeling was surreal. It always feels great to do something for your parents.”
Earlier in many interviews, Shehnaaz had mentioned how her parents used to call her continuously when she started to live alone, away from her home. Shehnaaz had said that she had a soft corner for her grandmother, but had decided not to contact her until she became famous.

Shehnaaz also found a good friend and soulmate inside the Bigg Boss 13 house. Her bond with Sidharth Shukla is still loved by many. But when the actor left for his heavenly abode in 2021, Shehnaaz isolated herself for a while. In an old interview, Shehnaaz revealed that she doesn’t cry in public after Sidharth's demise because people say she is doing this to gain sympathy.
We love how Shehnaaz made a name for herself in the industry despite all the odds.
