Social media has a lot of influence on people’s lives. Posting pictures, updating their statuses, checking-in to places that they visit, etc. seem to be everybody’s favourite pastime. But another thing that happens all the time here is the meeting of two people, falling in love, and getting hitched.

However, this story that started with Facebook did not go as smoothly. Re-instating our faith in true love, here is the story of this made for each other couple, Sameer and Shilpi.

Sameer, who was extremely interested in striking a conversation with Shilpi sent her a Facebook friend request, which she did not accept as she did not have the highest of regards for him then.
Shilpi said:
“After consulting my friend I came to know that Sameer is a bit flirty. Being with him was certainly not a choice and thus the request remained unaccepted. According to me there wasn't going to be a story but destiny had different plans”.
Surely, destiny did have bigger and better plans as exactly 3 months later, the two came face-to-face by ending up in the same office. And in just a span of six days, Shilpi was drawn towards Sameer’s charm, developing a strong sense of liking towards him.
Shilpi added:
“Somewhere in my heart, it felt that our souls have known each other forever. It was Magic!’’

Soon after knowing each other for some time, Sameer proposed to Shilpi on June 16, 2013, and Shilpi, who could hardly contain her excitement, readily said yes to him four days later!
She calls that moment the most memorable one by saying:
“That was a moment that simply can't be put into words. My soul could barely contain the happiness. However, one decision was made that day and it was to spend a lifetime together.”
And, in the words of Ludwig van Beethoven, she adds:
"A life, ever thine ever mine and ever ours."
They say that when two people are destined to be together, no force, however strong it may be can stop them from uniting, and the same was the case with this lovely couple. The two were very happy with the decision of spending their life together, but someone somewhere was not too happy about the same.

Yes, their parents were not happy with this relationship and did not approve of their match. Insecurities, tears and tension surrounded the couple, and everything seemed to be unfair. But soon, by God’s grace, things started to take a positive turn, and their parents too agreed to their union.
After a lot of struggles, tears and adjustments, the two got engaged on July 22, 2015 with the blessings of their respective families.

For the engagement, Shilpi wore a heavily embellished lehenga choli which was a colour combination of red, green, cream and hues of pink in between, while Sameer wore a simple yet elegant dark blue kurta pyjama with dull gold motifs all over it.

While recalling her courtship period, Shilpi says that it was more than perfect, and much more than she could have ever imagined, but the Gods above wanted to test their relationship just a wee bit more.

She says:
"Our courtship was beautiful and since everything was slowly working out, I was finally happy. The peace was however short-lived, the storm began once again and this time nothing seemed to work out. My mind said no but my heart didn't stop believing and yes it worked out. Finally the love of my life, my heart and soul was with me."

Finally, after all the ups and downs, the couple got married on November 23, 2015.
The bride looked gorgeous in a traditional dark red lehenga with subtle makeup, while the groom chose to match her outfit by wearing a cream-coloured sherwani with hints of maroon on it teamed up with a brown salwar.
