Newbie mother, Shirin Sewani opens up about her pure feelings upon embracing motherhood for the first time.
Shirin Sewani is one of the most popular faces in Indian television. She rose to fame with her highly-appreciated performances in hit daily soap operas like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Naagin 2, Kavach 2, Only For Singles, amongst many others. The diva is also a much-loved content creator, who tickles the funny bones of her audience by pulling off spoof characters and caricatures of people in real life. In her personal life, she is married to an airline captain, Udayan Sachan. The couple recently got promoted as parents with the arrival of their son on March 11, 2024.
In a recent interaction with ETimes, Shirin Sewani opened up about the new phase of her life, as she embraced motherhood for the first time. The actress remarked how she feels having a baby is a superpower for every woman, since they become capable of doing everything. Moreover, she added feeling more powerful and confident, and even made her understand her own mother much more deeply now. In her words:
“Having a baby feels like having a superpower because if you can have a baby, you are capable of everything. I now feel more powerful, confident and fearless. He is my world. Becoming a mother has given me a deeper understanding of my mother. Not that I loved or valued her any less, but my respect for her has grown manifold.”

Every new mother would agree about the tons of advice they receive over planning the best course of action in this new phase of life. Speaking along the same lines, Shirin revealed that in this new chapter of her life, there has been moments when she felt uncertain and even ended up making mistakes. However, what she has always strived towards is to listen to all the advice given to her, but only do what her heart says. Expressing more, she said:
“As a first-time mother, I have entered a new phase and embarked on a new journey. Feeling uncertain and making mistakes is okay because we are all learning. Suno sabki karo apni, as you know your baby best.”
In the following segment, Shirin Sewani revealed that her baby boy has already turned a month old and she cannot really fathom how the time has passed ever so quickly. The doting mother remarked that she wishes to cherish the phase of snuggling, cuddling and singing lullabies for her bundle of joy, for as long as she can. She added enjoying the most precious moment when her son sleeps peacefully beside her.

In the concluding segment of the interview, Shirin Sewani discussed about managing both her work along with the newbie mommy duties. For the unversed, while the diva hasn’t jumped back to work full-flegedly, she has resumed her work as a content creator and occasionally drops mimicry reels and caricature videos on her social media handle. Adding how her priorities have changed completely, Shirin stated:
“Life has changed, and so have my priorities and routine. I am completely absorbed in caring for him and meeting his needs. However, I am balancing a bit of work with him, and it’s an amazing feeling to be able to balance both.”
