Shiv Thakare clarified his statement about receiving less than half of the prize money from what 'Bigg Boss' had promised for its winner.
Shiv Thakare is a famous television personality who started his career with the reality show, MTV Roadies Rising and reached the semifinals back in 2017. After that, he was seen on MTV's The Anti Social Network. In 2019, Shiv grabbed a lot of attention after he emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss Marathi, season 2. Well, after winning the show, Shiv, on a podcast with Bharti Singh, shared the truth about the huge prize of Rs. 25 lakh. And he recently clarified the same.
In a recent interview with Telly Talk, Shiv Thakare was asked about his comment about the payment issue in Bigg Boss Marathi. To this, Shiv shared that during one of the tasks in Bigg Boss, the contestants lost Rs. 8 lakh, and then no one had any idea of who would emerge as the winner, and along with it there was a 30 percent tax deduction. Shiv shared that he received Rs. 8 lakh less plus a 30 percent deduction upon the prize money. The actor further added that he had no idea about the taxes being so high, and revealed that Bigg Boss Hindi generally pays more than Marathi. Shiv shared:
"What I meant was that during a task, we lost Rs 8 lakh from the winning amount. We didn't know then who was going to be the winner. After that, I didn't know that the government charges 30 per cent tax. I got Rs 8 lakh less plus 30 per cent deducted. Also, BB Marathi pays less compared to Hindi but paiso se zyada mujhe steps mili to become successful. I didn't know that the taxes are so high."
In a conversation with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiya's podcast, Bigg Boss Marathi 2 winner, Shiv Thakare revealed the truth about Bigg Boss' promised prize money of Rs. 25 lakh. The actor added that just before his name was announced as the winner, the makers told him that Rs. 8 lakh would be deducted, which would make it Rs. 17 lakh in total. Well, the actor was astonished to see that his account was credited with Rs. 11.5 lakh only, and later, he got to know that the rest of the amount was used for his parents' plane tickets, clothing, and more.
Shiv Thakare won hearts yet again when he took part in Bigg Boss 16, and ended up as the first runner-up. If the reports are to be believed, he charged Rs. 5 lakh per episode on the show. And if this is true, then Shiv's total earnings from Bigg Boss 16 would be Rs. 1 crore.
Shiv Thakare was also seen in MTV Roadies Revolution as a judge during the audition round. Well, he geared up on his professional front, and in 2021, he kickstarted his entrepreneurial project by launching a deodorant brand called B.Real. Talking about his personal life, the actor often gets linked to several famous actresses such as Akanksha Puri and Daisy Shah. Well, he has always dismissed all such link-up rumours about his personal life.
