At Rockdale, Bandra, following the Anand Karaj tradition of the Sikh wedding, Sonam and Anand got married. In the night, a reception was hosted at The Leela, and every celebrity of the Bollywood fraternity arrived to rock the night! Among the many celebrities who graced Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s reception, the one couple who stood out was the hone-wali-Ambani-bahu, Shloka Mehta and her fiancé, Akash Ambani. Why? Well, guess what! It’s Shloka Mehta and Akash Ambani’s first public appearance post their engagement. Shloka looked like an ultimate beauty in her floral print golden lehenga and her groom-to-be, Akash looked dapper in a lightly-striped black suit. For the uninitiated ones, Akash Ambani is the son of India’s business magnate, Mukesh Ambani and philanthropist, Nita Ambani. On March 24, 2018, in Goa, Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta got engaged amid close family members and friends. On the other hand, Shloka Mehta is the daughter of Russell Mehta, who is the Managing Director of Rosy Blue, a Belgian-Indian company which does business in diamonds. It has been reported that Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s wedding would possibly take place later this year in Mumbai itself. Speaking to a leading newspaper, Nita Ambani was earlier quoted as saying, “I have known Shloka since she was four and we are all delighted to welcome her to our home and our hearts”.
When it comes to the Ambanis, there has been another engagement lately. Even Mukesh Ambani’s daughter, and Akash’s twin sister, Isha Ambani got engaged last weekend. Anand Piramal, son of billionaire Ajay and Swati Piramal, went down on his knees to propose Isha Ambani in Mahabaleshwar. Coming back to Shloka and Akash, after their engagement, the Ambanis hosted a grand party at their famous residence, Antilia. It was a star-studded affair and a few names who graced the occasion included Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Karan Johar, Katrina Kaif, John Abraham, among various others.
On the other hand, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja got hitched yesterday i.e. on May 08, 2018. Their reception party witnessed a rocking coming together of many B-town celebs. For her reception, she opted for a grey and white coloured lehenga with a full sleeved blouse. And Anand opted for a black bandhgala and white churidaar.
