Popular actor, Shoaib Ibrahim opened up about his fatherhood journey and recalled his wife, Dipika Kakar's miscarriage.
Shoaib Ibrahim and Dipika Kakar Ibrahim are one of the most adorable couples in the telly world. The lovebirds never leave a chance to mesmerise everyone with their cutesy chemistry and mushy romance. For the unversed, it was on February 22, 2018, when Shoaib and Dipika exchanged their wedding vows. And finally, on June 21, 2023, the duo welcomed their son, Ruhaan, after five years of marital bliss. Since then, Shoaib and Dipika have been busy fulfilling their parental duties. Now, the actor opened up about his experience of fatherhood.
In an interview with ETimes, Shoaib Ibrahim opened up about his journey to fatherhood. Talking about the same, the actor mentioned that his son, Ruhaan is the apple of his eye. When asked about how he copes with being away from his son at work, the actor mentioned that he misses him a lot. However, Shoaib added that his wife, Dipika Kakar Ibrahim, always brings Ruhaan on the set whenever he misses him a lot. In his words:
"Ruhaan is the apple of our eye. Of course, I miss him. I wake up early to spend time with him. Jab jyada miss karta hoon toh Dipika phone pare samajh jati hai and brings ruhaan to the set."

In the same conversation, Shoaib recalled Dipika's miscarriage that happened in 2021 and mentioned that it affected them deeply. Adding that when Dipika conceived again in November 2022, he asked her not to share the news with anyone as he had learned from his past experience. Elaborating more about it, Shoaib said:
"It deeply affected us, given our emotional investment. Par sab cheezein oopar wale ki marzi se hoti hain. When Dipika conceived again in November 2022, we couldn't believe it at first. She shared the news with me on November 25. Cautious from the previous experience, I suggested not sharing the news immediately."
Shoaib revealed that he and Dipika waited for 20 days before sharing the news with their families. The actor also mentioned that Dipika had some complications, and she was asked to take complete bed rest for the first three months. Shoaib also added that generally, after delivery, people focus on the child and forget about the mother. However, after Dipika delivered Ruhaan, he had planned beforehand to quit his serial, Ajooni and be there for his wife.

For quite some time now, rumours about Dipika Kakar Ibrahim quitting the showbiz industry have been rife in the media. During the interview, Shoaib addressed the same and mentioned that she had just taken a break from work. Mentioning that she wants to dedicate her time to motherhood, the actor stated that Dipika has decided that she will return to work only after Ruhaan grows up.
Shoaib added that after the birth of a child, a father's life changes, but a mother experiences a lot of changes. Mentioning how a mother undergoes a hormonal, physical and emotional change after delivery, Shaoib said:
"While a father's life also changes after a child is born, it can't be compared to the hormonal, physical, and emotional changes a woman experiences. I salute mothers for all that they got through."
For the unversed, it was on September 21, 2023, when Shoaib and Dipika revealed their son, Ruhaan's face to the world. Taking to their respective IG handles, the duo shared an adorable family picture in a collaborative post. In the picture, the duo could be seen planting a kiss on their little munchkin's head, and it melted our hearts. And, oh boy, their son looked extremely cute as he was decked up in a black Addidas jacket.
