As per reports, cricketer, Shoaib Malik's sister recently opened up about how Sania Mirza was tired of her brother's affairs.
Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza were once a popular couple in the world of sports. Their love overcame the differences in the border between India and Pakistan, and fans couldn't get enough of their love until speculations about their marriage hitting the rock made headlines. The news was confirmed when Shoaib tied the knot with actress, Sana Javed, and Sania took a khula from him. However, it wasn't revealed why Shoaib and Sania parted ways. But, in a recent interview, the Pakistani cricketer's sister hinted a possible issue between them.
As per a new media report, Shoaib Malik's sisters opened up about their brother's third marriage to Sana Javed. Pakistan Daily shared that Shoaib's sisters didn't attend the marriage and revealed some inside details about his separation from Sania Mirza. For those unaware, the star tennis player and her family have been silent behind the couple's split. But Shoaib's sister stated:
"Sania Mirza was tired of his affairs."
The startling revealation left fans stunned. Moreover, the cricketer's sister shared that their whole family decided not to attend the wedding, which has given rise to new theories about Shoaib and Sania's divorce. Previously, when Shoaib announced this third marriage, Sania's sister, Anam, took to her Instagram handle in January 2024 and confirmed that the tennis star took a khula, which is a procedure in Islamic law that allows a Muslim woman to initiate a divorce from her husband. Asking for privacy for their family, she penned:
"Sania had taken a khula from Shoaib Malik months ago. We wish him well for his new journey."
Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza welcomed their only child, a son, on October 30, 2018. But, since the couple's divorce, Sania has his primary custody, and Shoaib never talked about his son. He is occasionally seen with his son and had received criticism for not being around him. After a long time, he recently opened up about his bond with his son on a special Pakistani Ramadan show and shared that he meets him twice a month, and Izhaan calls him his 'bro'. At the same time, he picks up and drops him off to school, highlighting their strong bond. In his words:
"The relationship I share with him is one of friendship. He calls me bro, and sometimes I also call him bro. I make sure to visit him twice a month in Dubai, and while I'm there, I personally drop him to school and pick him up. I have a very strong bond with him. Every day, we connect on a video call and discuss everything."
Shoaib Malik first married Ayesha Siddiqui in 2002, but the couple sought divorce on April 7, 2010. He was later allegedly dating actress, Sayali Bhagat. But, refuting the claims, he tied the knot with Sania Mirza in a traditional Hyderabadi Muslim wedding ceremony with ceremonies in both India and Pakistan. Media worldwide covered it, and they welcomed their son in 2018. Later, Sania's family announced that she took a divorce, but the couple hasn't spoken anything about each other. In the same month, the cricketer announced his marriage to Pakistani TV actress, Sana Javed in a private nikah ceremony at her home, which received a lot of criticism from netizens.
