Shruti Hassan schools a fan for provoking her with a racially discriminative question

Recently, Shruti Hassan took to her IG handle and hosted an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session. Among other interesting fan questions, it was one particular person, whose request angered the diva. Well, the fan attempted to racially mock the diva and asked her to speak in a ‘South Indian accent’. However, Shruti, who was taken aback with such kind of a response, didn’t mince her words and bluntly responded to the fan about how a majority of people often mock people belonging from the Southern states based on prejudice over their style of speaking or even eating habits. Calling it a case of micro racism, she said:

“Ok… So this sort of bs micro racism is not ok. And its not cute when you look at us and say idly dosa sambar either. And no you don’t imitate us well, so don’t try and be funny in a South Indian way I would say.”

Shruti Hassan once spoke about her huge dependency on alcohol which she overcame

Earlier, during a conversation on the show, Untriggered With Aminjaz, Shruti Hassan had opened up about one of the dark phases of her life, and talked about the days when she used to be heavily dependent on alcohol. She remembered wanting to enjoy a lot of drinks with her friends, to the point that it almost felt that she was being controlled by alcohol. Adding how she changed herself and became sober for the last eight years, Shruti had mentioned:

“I was never into drugs, but alcohol was a big thing in my life. It just didn’t serve me at all anymore, in any positive way. I was ungover, and I always wanted to drink with my friends. So, I felt like it was more in control of me. I’ve been sober for eight years now. So, it’s hard to tolerate people in party situations when you’re not drinking. I have zero regrets, zero hangovers, and it’s just been the best to be sober for me.”

When Shruti talked about her dual passions for acting and singing

Apart from her popularity as a phenomenal actor, Shruti Hassan has also garnered considerable recognition as a singer and musician. In one of her older interviews with Pinkvilla, the diva had mentioned how following the path of music remained her aim for the longest when it came to her career. However, as and when acting and cinema entered into her life, Shruti valued the magic of the craft and evolved.

Shruti Hassan talked about her father, Kamal Hassan’s way of expressing love

One of the major mark of identity for Shruti Hassan has been that she is the daughter of legendary actor, Kamal Hassan. Previously, in an interactive session with her dad in a video titled Legacy Of Love, the actress opened up about Kamal Hassan’s way of expressing love to her, which is completely different from most usual fathers.
