In a recent episode of the podcast 'What The Hell Navya', Shweta Bachchan Nanda revealed that she never cared about her children, Navya and Agastya's academic performances.
Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan, and Navya Naveli Nanda's starrer podcast, What The Hell Navya, has been garnering much attention from viewers for one reason or another. Navya started this podcast back in 2023 to talk about important topics and share opinions on them from three different generations. For every episode, the ladies talk on a certain topic and share their views on it, and for the last episode, the topic was 'failure'.
While talking on the topic, Navya asked her mom and Nani what her perception is on academic failures as it is the first one any human faces in their life. Shweta shared that she never cared about her children's academic results as, for her, it was important that her children first become good human beings. She added that she didn't care if they weren't A-grade students, but they should not fail as human beings. Shweta further added:
"The world doesn't fall apart with one failure."

Shweta added that she doesn't want her children to be number one, but at least they should pass. They should work hard, and then whatever result comes, she will be completely satisfied with it. She also shared that personally, she has failed in many subjects, so she understands that her children should always work hard and do their best.
In the same context, Jaya Bachchan added that whenever her children did not do well in academics or in life, she blamed herself for it. Elaborating, Jaya said that she felt like she, as a parent, failed to inculcate the values and knowledge in them, which caused them to fail in that certain aspect of life. Her children's failures are her own failures, and somewhere she went wrong, that her children had to go through.

Shweta shared that Amitabh Bachchan would take their class every time their report cards used to come. He would call them and evaluate their marks, which would make them all sweaty and fidgety. Jaya Bachchan added that she never did this because she firmly believes there is always a next time to do better.
