In a recent interview, Shweta Tiwari talked about her daughter, Palak Tiwari's love for branded bags and clothes and revealed that the latter shops from London.
Shweta Tiwari is one of the popular actresses in the telly world. Known for portraying the role of 'Prerna' in the TV show, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Shweta has come a long way in her career. The actress is blessed with two kids, Palak and Reyansh, whom she raises single-handedly. Her daughter, Palak, impressed everyone with her on-screen presence in the song, Bijlee Bijlee, and later marked her acting debut with Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.
In an interview with News18 Showsha, Shweta Tiwari opened up about her daughter, Palak's acting career and revealed that the latter landed her first film on her own. However, she always relies on her mother when it comes to work. Calling herself a harsh critic of her daughter’s work, Shweta said:
“When Palak gets a script before an audition, she comes to me asking for tips on how to go about saying the lines. She takes her own decisions but my opinion also matters a lot to her. Sometimes, she makes five-six tapes and asks me to choose one so that she can send it ahead and I help her out. She knows that if she shows me something, main usme galti nikaalungi. And the day, I don’t point anything out, she gets very happy."

Shweta also recalled an incident when Palak was shooting for Sanjay Dutt’s The Virgin Tree and revealed that her daughter always requests her directors and casting directors to let her show the shots to her mother. Elaborating on it, Shweta said:
“She always requests her directors and casting directors to let her show me her shots so that I can point out her shortcomings. In fact, she was recently shooting for a film called The Virgin Tree. She shot a scene and everyone clapped for her. But she told the director, ‘Please sir, ek baar record karke mummy ko bhej doon main?’"
In their personal life, the mother-daughter duo has a very different equation. The actress talked about how her daughter, Palak spoils her and also spilled the beans on the latter's spending habits. Sharing the details, Shweta said:
“She gifts me a lot of branded stuff on my birthday and on Mother’s Day. She pampers me a lot! Every time she sees me carrying a regular bag, she goes, ‘Oh my god, what bag is this?’ And then the very next day, she brings me a branded tote bag. Thanks to my daughter, I don’t remember a single day when we don’t have parcels coming into our house. I’ve given her my credit cards with hotel and airline benefits. I tell her that tumko itna kharcha karna hai aur woh bahot easily kharcha kar deti hai (laughs). But I was never a spendthrift."

“Back when I was shooting round the clock, I didn’t get the chance to spend my earnings. Tab mere pati the kharcha karne ke liye (laughs). But my daughter loves splurging on luxuries. She loves owning branded bags and clothes. She doesn’t like shopping from showrooms at malls. She shops from London. I’ve only put my money into properties, fixed deposits and other investments. I’ve only made investments all my life."
On the work front, Shweta Tiwari will be next seen in the film, Singham Again.
