Amitabh Bachchan once talked about co-actress, Smita Patil's premonition and how she called him a day before his accident on the sets of 'Coolie'.
The enigma of Hindi cinema, Smita Patil needs no introduction. The stunning actress, not just broke the stereotype about an actress’s fair looks but also played a significant role in women-oriented films. A perfect combination of beauty with brains, Smita began her career as a television newsreader in Doordarshan at the age of 16. In a career of 10-12 years, Smita won 2 National Awards, 3 Filmfare Awards and a Padma Shri.
Just like Smita’s professional life, her personal life too had gained a lot of attention, and the reason behind the same was her relationship with the already-married actor, Raj Babbar. When Raj left his first wife, Nadira Babbar to marry, Smita, she was labelled as a home-breaker. Many sympathised with Nadira, while strongly criticising Smita.
