Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya got engaged on August 8, 2024, and the former shared the first photos with the love of her life.
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala's growing closeness was proof enough that something was brewing between them. However, the couple and their families kept the duo's relationship hidden from the world outside to safeguard them from the evil eyes. On the most auspicious day of the year, Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala got engaged, leaving fans in awe. Now, Sobhita has shared the first photos with her fiance, Naga Chaitanya, which took place at the latter's home.
On August 9, 2024, Sobhita took to her Instagram handle and posted a couple of pictures from her engagement ceremony. The couple's engagement had old-world charm, their home was decorated with traditional lotus strings, setting the right environment for their engagement. In the first monochrome picture, we can see the couple lost in each other's eyes as they were sitting on a swing.

In the second photo, Sobhita was seen holding Chaitanya's arms, and they looked adorable together. In another photo, the bride-to-be was trying to control her laugh while Chaitanya admired her. The last glimpse showed the soon-to-be-married couple lovingly posing for the camera. Along with it, Sobhita penned a Tamil poem, which can be read as:
"What could my mother be to yours? What kin is my father to yours anyway? And how did you and I meet ever? But in love our hearts are as red earth and pouring rain: mingled beyond parting. –From Kurunthogai, translated by A K Ramanujan."
For the engagement ceremony, Sobhita wanted to pay homage to her traditional roots and she asked the famous designer, Manish Malhotra to keep the same in mind. Her engagement saree's fabric was sourced from the weaving communities of Andhra Pradesh. Sobhita looked pretty in Uppada silk drapes in the golden blush colour of a traditional temple flower.
The bride-to-be accentuated her look with a gold neck chain, matar mala, and jhumkas. Subtle makeup with soft eyes, a bindi, and hair tied in a bun completed her look. On the other hand, Naga Chaitanya wore classic Pattu pancha, laalchi and kanduva, a three-piece set worn by the men of Andhra Pradesh.
For the unversed, Naga Chaitanya's father, Nagarjuna broke the news about his son's engagement. He took his X handle and shared photos of the soon-to-be married couple, and shared that at 9:42 in the morning, the couple's engagement ceremony was completed. He expressed excitement to welcome Sobhita to his family. He wrote:
"We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.!! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless!"
In May 2023, murmurs of Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita's relationship began making rounds on the internet after they were spotted together in Hyderabad. Over time, their close bond grabbed attention, and netizens even found them vacationing together in Europe in June 2024, adding fuel to their relationship speculations.
