Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala finally got married in an intimate yet grand wedding ceremony at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. The wedding was no less than honouring their adults and seeking blessings from Gods and Goddesses. The Tamil-Brahmin rituals that took place for eight hours made the celebration even more beautiful. However, it was Sobhita who radiated the Goddess Lakshmi vibes as she was decked up in gold from head-to-toe.
For the wedding ceremony, Sobhita picked a gold Kanjeevaram saree, which was reportedly desinged by Aishwarya Rai's bridal saree designer, Neeta Lulla. Talking about her magnum jewellery, Sobhita honoured her Telugu roots as she wore real gold jewellery from head to toe. Let us help and decode her jewellery!
Sobhita wore a Baasikam across her forehead. For those who don't know, it is a thread that is tied to the forehead of the bride and the groom in Telugu weddings. It's purpose is to pull all the focus to each other during the subha muhurat. Sobhita's look was further accessorised with mathapatti.
Sobhita also wore a Bullaki (specturm nose ring). She further styled her look with kundan choker in jalebi design, a mangoharam haar, which is common in South Indian jewellery, and a huge matar mala.
Sobhita also styled her bridal look with a vaddanam (waist belt), which is a must-wear for a South Indian bride. She also picked a gold vankii (arm belt). Her look was furhter completed with Surya and Chandra motfis on her hair, which signifies the cosmic blessings and balance, ensuring harmony in the newly-wed couple's life.
Talking about Sobhita's engagement look, the bride-to-be wanted to pay homage to her traditional roots, so she asked the famous designer, Manish Malhotra, to keep the same thing in mind. Her engagement saree's fabric was sourced from the weaving communities of Andhra Pradesh. Sobhita looked pretty in Uppada silk drapes in the golden blush colour of a traditional temple flower.
The bride-to-be accentuated her look with a gold neck chain, matar mala, and jhumkas. Subtle makeup with soft eyes, a bindi, and hair tied in a bun completed her look. On the other hand, Naga Chaitanya wore classic Pattu pancha, laalchi and kanduva, a three-piece set worn by the men of Andhra Pradesh.
