In a throwback interview, Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu revealed how they had introduced each other to their parents, Sharmila Tagore-Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, and Ravi Kemmu-Jyoti Kemmu respectively.
The 'Tum Mile' moment for Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu was in the late 2000s when they had met for the shoot of their film, Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge and rather than a friendly encounter, they didn't speak to each other at all. It was during their next film, 99, when Soha and Kunal came closer. The 'real life' princess, Soha is the daughter of veteran actress, Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi a.k.a., the former Nawab of Pataudi and former captain of the Indian cricket team. Kunal was born to actors, Ravi Kemmu and Jyoti Kemmu. Acting runs in the blood of Soha and Kunal but it was their different backgrounds that became topics of their discussions and their friendship gradually developed into a relationship.

Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu were in a live-in relationship before deciding to spend the rest of their lives together. Soha and Kunal have often said in their interviews how being in a live-in relationship helped them understand each other better. Even with ups and downs in their relationship, Soha and Kunal have figured their way out every time and are today, happily married to each other with an adorable daughter, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, making their lives happier and blissful. In an interview with the Hindustan Times in 2012, three years before their wedding, Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu had revealed how they had introduced each other to their parents. Soha had revealed that she relied on her mother, Sharmila Tagore to tell Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi about Kunal. Soha had said, "I would've never told my father directly because we didn't have discussions about boys. I relied on my mother to tell him. I must've told her and she is very liberal and trusting of my choices and not overtly concerned. She met Kunal on the sets of 99 and unfortunately he was doing a scene in which he had to wear a pink bathrobe." Correcting Soha, Kunal interrupted, "White bathrobe." Then Soha continued, "Yeah. White bathrobe with shorts. She liked him immediately, and he is very good with mothers."
Revealing why it was uncomfortable for his father, Ravi Kemmu, when he met Soha Ali Khan for the first time, Kunal Kemmu had said, "It was quite casual and informal and I think they were slightly uncomfortable, especially my dad, because it was the first time, I was telling them that I'm seeing a woman." Speaking about his equation with the Pataudi family, Kunal added, "I'm very fond of Saif bhai as I call him now. Anybody can get along with him because he is a very entertaining person. I respect Amma (Sharmila Tagore) a lot. She's a legendary actress and initially I was very nervous around her. Saba is a very real person."

It was on January 25, 2021, when Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu had completed six years of married life and to mark the same, the couple had posted throwback pictures with one-line captions, that spoke volumes of their love for each other. Soha and Kunal had posted throwback pictures from their vacations and while the former had captioned her post as "Happy anniversary @khemster2 there is always a reason to belong to you", the latter had written, "Happy Anniversary my love @sakpataudi."
Back in 2015, Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu's wedding festivities had begun with her bachelorette bash, mehendi ceremony followed by a court marriage and finally wedding reception. For the registered marriage, Soha became the prettiest bride in an ivory Sabyasachi lehenga paired with a contrasting kesari orange dupatta. Kunal had complemented her in a white sherwani and a golden silk saafa.
