Bride Sonakshi Sinha's parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, were spotted in traditional attire as they headed to the actress' home to attend her wedding.
Sonakshi Sinha is finally tying the knot with Zaheer Iqbal, the man of her dreams, after keeping her relationship under wraps for the longest time. The duo is hosting a lavish party at Bastian in Mumbai, and scores of people from the industry are gearing up to attend. A day prior to the big day, the Sinhas arranged a puja at their residence, Ramayana. As the couple is busy getting all decked up in their respective attire, we recently got a glimpse of Sonakshi’s parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, who left for the venue.
When Sonakshi’s wedding reports surfaced in the media, Shatrughan Sinha stated that he was awaiting confirmation of his daughter’s upcoming wedding. This statement led many to speculate a rift between the actress and her family. However, the latest glimpses from Sonakshi’s wedding day suggest otherwise. In several paparazzi videos, the veteran actor-turned-politician, Shatrughan Sinha was spotted leaving his home wearing a blue sherwani paired with a multi-colour doshala.

Meanwhile, the bride’s mother, Poonam Sinha, left her residence for the wedding in a gorgeous pink suit. She paired her suit with a pretty pair of earrings and wore her signature red bindi to complete her look for her daughter’s big day. Sonakshi and Zaheer are reportedly registering their marriage at the actress’s new home. Later, on June 23, 2024, the couple arranged for a reception.

Earlier, on June 22, 2024, Sonakshi Sinha’s to-be-father-in-law, Iqbal Ratansi, revealed in an interview with Free Press Journal if the actress would convert to Islam after her wedding with Zaheer. He shared that Sonakshi would not embrace Islam, and further added that the duo’s union signify their love for one another and is not related to their respective religions. In his words:
“She is not converting, and that is for sure. Theirs is a union of hearts, and religion has no role to play whatsoever. I believe in humanity. God is called Bhagwan by Hindus and Allah by Muslims. But at the end of the day, we are all human beings. My blessings are with Zaheer and Sonakshi.”

On June 21, 2024, Sonakshi’s father, Shatrughan Sinha, spoke with Times Now and shared that he and his wife, Poonam, would grace the celebrations, which would take place on June 23, 2024. He also revealed that the wedding reception would take place on the said date, and not the wedding. In his words:
“So quickly, yes my wife and I are very much a part of the celebrations on June 23. No, it is not the wedding. It is the wedding reception that we are all attending on the evening of June 23. No one from my family said anything about a wedding. Some media outlets have just been presuming things. Too much attention is being given to something that is a private family matter. Shadiyan sab ke ghar hoti hain. Pre-wedding conflicts are also common. We are all okay now. Whatever the stress has been sorted.”
