Recently, Sonakshi Sinha talked about her desperation to get married. She shared that her co-stars in 'Heeramandi' have taken the next step yet she's still single.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut web series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar has been making headlines ever since it was released on Netflix. While a segment of the audience is happy with how the series has turned out to be, others are critical of the storyline and performance of SLB’s niece, Sharmin Segal. However, the stellar cast of the series featuring Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Shaikh and Sharmin Segal, do not pay heed to such noises and continue enjoying the success of their project.
Recently, the star cast of Heeramandi appeared on Netflix’s comedy series, The Great Indian Kapil Show and talked about their experiences while filming the larger-than-life series. During the conversation, the host, Kapil, who is popular for her witty one-liners and comic timing, teased Sonakshi about her marriage. He asked, “Alia got married, Kiara got married. Is your character in Heeramandi negative or positive?” The audience started laughing out loud at such a question, and Sonakshi answered:
“Bas aap jale pe namak daal rahe ho na. Wo janta hai mujhe kitne zor se shaadi karni hai. Heeramandi bhi khatam ho gayi, meri shaadi nahi huyi.”

Adding a touch of humour, Sonakshi playfully mentioned that even though Sharmin got married, she herself is still single. For those who may not be aware, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s niece, Sharmin, tied the knot with Aman Mehta in November 2023. During the same conversation, Manisha Koirala chimed in, pointing out that even Richa got married while they were filming Heeramandi and is now expecting her first child.
Richa and Ali Fazal dated for quite some time before tying the knot in 2022. The duo then announced in February 2024 that they are to welcome their first child soon. While conversing, Richa said that she had previously shot wearing a 30kg outfit while filming, and when she wore her wedding outfit, it felt light. In her words:
“Meri acchi practice ho gayi. Meri costume 30 kilo ki thi, uske baad jab meri shaadi ke outfits maine pehna toh mujhe laga nothing, no weight. Aaram se kudo, gao, khelo kuch nahi laga.”

When Archana Puran Singh asked the Heeramandi cast about their dance rehearsals, they unanimously said that they never rehearsed, as, eventually, Sanjay Leela Bhansali would change the choreography while shooting. Sonakshi said that she learned the steps of the song Tilasmi Baahein, which was filmed on her by heart. But the director did not like it in the end and changed it.
