Sonakshi Sinha opened up on the reason why she and Zaheer Iqbal decided to get married in their home in the presence of their near and dear ones.
Sonakshi Sinha tied the knot to her longtime beau, Zaheer Iqbal, in an intimate home ceremony on June 23, 2024. The couple opted for a civil wedding and later hosted a lavish reception party at Bastian. In a recent interaction with Bollywood Bubble, Sonakshi opened up about her wedding and revealed the reason behind keeping it intimate and simple.
Sonakshi Sinha's wedding with Zaheer Iqbal garnered much attention as the duo had an inter-faith marriage. Moreover, there were also reports about an alleged family feud where Sonakshi's brother, Luv did not even attend his only sister's wedding. Now, talking about her intimate wedding, Sonakshi added:
"We also wanted our reception to be one big party where everybody just have fun. I didn't want to take any stress so my house was an open house. Everybody was coming and going while I was getting my hair and makeup done. Friends are chilling in the wardrobe, decor is going on, the food is being set up. So it was literally like an open house and that's how I wanted my D-Day to be like. It felt so homely and beautiful. It was perfect."

For the wedding, Sonakshi wanted a simple, intimate gathering where she did not had to take much stress and could relax and enjoy her D-day. However, she also wanted a grand celebration, which is why she and Zaheer hosted a lavish reception party, where they danced their hearts out.
For her wedding day, Sonakshi looked ethereal in an ivory-hued vintage Chikankari saree that previously belonged to her mother. She accessorised her look with a kundan choker and matching earrings. Subtle makeup with a bindi and gajra-adorned bun hairdo completed her look. For her reception, she donned yet another Varanasi silk brocade red saree. Talking about her wedding sartorial picks, Sonakshi added:
"I dressed simply because I wanted to be comfortable and I wanted to dance the most at my wedding, which I did."

Eaarlier, in an interaction with ETimes, Sonakshi Sinha opened up about why she loves to express her love for her husband, Zaheer Iqbal through PDA posts on social media. Since their wedding, The diva has frequently posted love-filled glimpses with the man of her dreams, Zaheer Iqbal. Talking about the same, Sonakshi shared that she feels light and relieved to be able to do it since she cannot stop letting the world know about how madly she is in love. In her words:
"I feel so light I can't tell you. Because you're in love with the person and you want to tell everyone. I used to feel like, it's such a cute picture; I need to post it, but I can't post it."
