At the screening of the film, 'Sarfarosh' to mark 25 years of its release, lead actress, Sonali Bendre made a shocking claim of never having seen the film.
The Aamir Khan and Sonali Bendre starrer Sarfarosh marked 25 years since its release in 1999, and the entire team recently celebrated the milestone by attending a special screening of the film in Mumbai. The lead stars of the film, Aamir Khan and Sonali Bendre, along with the other star cast, which included Naseeruddin Shah, Smita Jaykar, Govind Namdev, Makarad Deshpande, and Akhilendra Mishra, attended the screening.
During the event, Sonali Bendre surprised many with her revelation as the actress admitted to never watching the film until recently. Sonali admitted that she watched the film a few days back before the 25th anniversary. The actress also revealed that after watching the film, she felt like it was released just a few years back.

In the same event, Sonali Bendre recalls being claustrophobic during the shoot of Sarfarosh. Recalling how she messed up while filming a song, the actress said:
“Jaise Aamir ne kaha ke jabi bhi dekhte hai, ek regret jo hai film ka, I’m very like claustrophobic, hydrophobic I don’t know what is it, aaj tak main swimming nahi seekhi hoon but I can’t get my head under the water aur who jo ek shot hai hum wapas nahi kar payein. Till date I see that song, that shot you know you can see my expression and I only see that shot in that song. For me that song, I know it’s lovely it’s beautiful but for me that song, that shot, I could not do a retake and I messed up. So that is my regret on that song and that is what I remember when I hear that song.”
At the event, when Aamir Khan was questioned about the possibility of Sarfarosh 2, the actor confessed that it could be given serious thought. He further said that if there is a suitable script, then there can be a chance of a sequel.

Released on April 30, 1999, Sarfarosh tells the story of 'ACP Ajay Singh Rathod', played by Aamir Khan, who vows to eliminate crime. Sonali Bendre plays his love interest, and various other characters also play poignant roles. According to multiple reports, seven years were spent on the research, pre-production, and production of the much-acclaimed film.
