Forgetting all the sad incidents that happened in our celeb’s lives, a news that shocked the world last year (2018), was of Sonali Bendre’s high-grade metastatic cancer. Admit it or not, ever since, we all have been sending in silent hopes and prayers for one of the most gorgeous actresses of B-town. It was Sonali’s 44th birthday yesterday (January 01, 2018), and the actress’s hubby, Goldie Behl took to Instagram and shared a heart-stirring note for his dear wifey, which is surely going to make you all emotional.
Sharing a beautiful picture from what looked like a birthday celebration, Goldie posted an adorable picture from a cake-cutting ceremony and wrote, “Happy birthday Sonali. They say your partner needs to be your best friend, your sounding board, your mirror, your strength, your inspiration. You have been all that and more to me. 2018 was a tough year on you but I am so proud of the dignity and courage with which you handled it. Not only did you help me find my own strength, but you imparted that to every soul who followed your life closely. It is never easy to be at the receiving end and yet be so positive and spread so much love. Thank you for being the person you are. On your special day, I wish you all things wonderful, all things love, all things that bring a cheer to you through the year. So #SwitchOnTheSunshine like you always do and make this year count #OneDayAtATime.” Here’s the image:
What also looks like a surprise party thrown by her hubby, Goldie had apparently rung in Sonali’s birthday and a New Year bash for their close friends and family. Sharing a video of balloon-decorated floors, Sonali posted her birthday surprise video on her Instagram story and wrote the words, “love the surprise” atop the video. Fans can apprehend the tumults of love that both Sonali and Goldie have for each other. On the account of their wedding anniversary on November 12, 2018, the actress who was then in New York undergoing her cancer treatment, posted quite a few beautiful pictures with her hubby and captioned it as, “As soon I began to write this, I knew instantly that I wouldn’t be able to put down in words all the emotions and thoughts that were running through my head. Husband. Companion. Best friend. My rock. For me, that's @goldiebehl. Marriage is standing by each other, through thick and thin, in sickness and in health… and god knows, how we’ve been through that this year."
Her post could be further read as, “What not many people realize is that cancer is not just an individual battle, it’s something that a family collectively goes through. I was also able to go on this journey, knowing that you’d juggle all your responsibilities, and take on some more and hold fort back home, all this while shuttling between two continents. Thank you for being my source of strength, love and joy, for being with me every single step of the way, thank you is such an understatement for how I feel. What do I say about someone who is a part of you, who is yours and nothing and nobody else matters? Happy anniversary Goldie!”
Not only her hubby, Sonali Bendre’s 13-year-old, Ranveer too, has been extremely supportive and understanding of his mother’s health. Sharing how Ranveer had reacted when he head of his mother’s illness, the Hum Saath Saath Hain star wrote on her Instaram, “From the moment he was born 12 years, 11 months and 8 days ago, my amazing @rockbehl took ownership of my heart. From then on, his happiness and wellbeing have been the centre of anything @goldiebehl and I ever did. And so, when the Big C reared its ugly head, our biggest dilemma was what and how we were going to tell him. As much as we wanted to protect him, we knew it was important to tell him the full facts. We’ve always been open and honest with him and this time it wasn’t going to be different.” (Also Read: Baahubali Director, SS Rajamouli's Son Karthikeya Gets Married To Singer GF, Pooja Prasad)
It could be further read as, “He took the news so maturely and instantly became a source of strength and positivity for me. In some situations now, he even reverses roles and takes on being the parent, reminding me of things I need to do! I believe that it’s imperative to keep kids involved in a situation like this. They are a lot more resilient than we give them credit for. It’s important to spend time with them and include them, rather than make them wait on the side-lines, not being told yet instinctively knowing everything. In our effort to protect them from the pain and realities of life, we might end up doing the opposite. I’m spending time with Ranveer right now, while he’s on summer vacation. His madness and shenanigans help me #SwitchOnTheSunshine. And today, we derive strength from each other #OneDayAtATime.”
Sonali, we wish you a belated happy birthday! We hope that this new year has a lot of positivity and happiness to offer to you.
