It’s time for band, baaja and baaraat for Veere Di Wedding actress, Sonam Kapoor and her businessman beau, Anand Ahuja. To kickstart the pre-wedding functions, Sonam and Anand along with their friends and family had a gala time at their mehendi ceremony. Kapoors and Ahujas made sure that the first function of the wedding ceremonies, turns the volume up and sets the mood right for everyone! Bride-to-be Sonam Kapoor and groom-to-be Anand Ahuja, were beaming with happiness and were all smiles because of the unconditional love showered on them. In the videos that are streaming online from Sonam’s mehendi function, we can see her dancing her heart out with her hubby-to-be. Sonam and Anand share a romantic hug moment grooving to the track Lat Lag Gayee from the film, Race 2.
Doesn’t this soon-to-be-married couple look adorable? Not only the bride and the groom shook their legs on their special day, but also bride Sonam’s parents, Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor ecstatically danced on the mehendi ceremony. Anil Kapoor is performing on his iconic songs, My Name is Lakhan and Gallan Goodiyan from Dil Dhadakne Do on Sonam’s sangeet. A source close to the family informed Filmfare, “Anil is ecstatic about his performance on Sonam and Anand’s sangeet. He will perform on two of his favourite numbers – Gallan Goodiyan from Dil Dhadakne Do and My Name is Lakhan from Ram Lakhan. For the uninitiated ones, as per the reports, Sonam and Anand met through their common friend, Pernia Qureshi. Though Sonam has always been tight-lipped about her relationship with Anand, and for the first time, she spoke with the FirstPost about their social media PDA. Sonam was quoted as saying, “Social media is in my control. I am not going to disrespect this person and be like that he doesn't exist in my life. At the same time, I am not going to disrespect that person by speaking about him and other people interpreting in a different way. So, I will not talk about it or hide it." She further added, “It's a rule basically Anand has put on both of us. Right before I sleep I have to put my phone on charging in the bathroom or I charge it in the hall of other room.”
Sonam also revealed the designers she has opted for her wedding ceremonies. In an interview with the Harper's Bazaar Bride, Sonam stated, "I'm wearing the three 'A's for my wedding - Abu-Jani Sandeep Khosla, Anamika Khanna and Anuradha Vakil." After mehendi, next function is sangeet which will take place at Sonam’s close friend Samyukta Nair’s hotel, The Leela in Mumbai.
