From stealing each other's name to supporting each other in the biggest decision, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand S Ahuja redefined love for all of us! They made headlines in May 2018 with their big fat Punjabi wedding. And while they were giving us all goals, the two wasn't able to go on their dream honeymoon because of their work commitments. We remember how once in an interview, Anand revealed that Sonam had always messed up his plans. And how she had left for Cannes right after their wedding because of which they were not able to go on their honeymoon. But it seems like the actress is finally all set to make up to Anand for all their ruined plans as they are having a ball in Japan.
The couple is holidaying in Japan and has painted the entire social media red with their adorable vacation pictures. Today (on June 23, 2019), Sonam took to her Instagram handle and shared a cute picture with Anand, and along with it, she wrote, "I ask myself every day… How did I get so lucky to marry my best friend in this world.”@anandahuja Anand and I didn’t get a honeymoon so this was honeymoon/anniversary/birthday trip all rolled into one. And let me tell you it was worth the wait. I had the best time of my life. Thank you my love." Take a look at the picture below:
Coming back to their love story, in an interview with Vogue, Anand had spilled the beans on how they became friends. He had said, "The first time we met, we talked about our respective work. I was just struck by the fact that I could speak to her so openly about everything. We were chatting on Snapchat one night and she said, ‘Stop texting, just call me.’ And we spoke for two hours that night. Our friendship started over superficial things like vegan chocolates and sneakers but soon we were having deeper conversations." In another interview with MensXp, Anand had revealed how they couldn't go on a honeymoon trip. He had stated, "It’s funny. Sonam is always messing on my plans. Last year, she had Cannes right after the wedding. We didn’t do a honeymoon. We did a really short one in Japan, this year, we were again planning to go to Japan but then her Zoya Factor schedule is there and it has changed a bit. We are not going in June, but we will go after her birthday. We are so fortunate that with our schedules, we travel so much and get to spend time. We will be in London for the anniversary. London is a little break for her. We will surely do a Japan trip at the end of the year (sic)."
While we all know Sonam and Anand are living in a long-distance marriage, not many know it takes a lot of patience to actually make it work. In a throwback interview with Elle India, Anand had revealed about the same and had shared, “Long distance can get tiring, but we're lucky that Delhi, London and Mumbai are all home, for work. It could be worse, but it obviously could be better. It's hard to not be together, especially after you get around to being married and you want to have that time. But Sonam's got a hectic schedule this year — she's got four films coming up. But we make it work.
