Sonam Kapoor bought a retro 1940s music store, Rhythm House, with her husband, Anand Ahuja. It is an iconic music store in India.
Sonam Kapoor, who rose to fame with her 2007 movie, Sawaariya. The actress worked hard and established herself as one of the most gorgeous actresses in Bollywood with films like Neerja, Ranjhana, Delhi-6, and many more. Talking about her personal life, Sonam married her longtime beau, Anand Ahuja, at a grand wedding ceremony in 2018. And it was in 2022.
Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja are now the owners of Rhythm House, India's iconic music store. According to a report in the Economic Times, Sonam and Anand purchased the store in Mumbai for Rs. 478.4 million. The 3,600-square-foot Rhythm House was closed in 2019 after Nirav Modi was named a defaulter on billions of dollars of bank loans.
The news was confirmed by the professional appointed by the Indian bankruptcy court to oversee the sale of the store. A spokesperson for Bhaane confirmed the purchase but declined to share its price. Let us inform you that the deal marks the end of an era for a music generation that grew up listening to songs of their favourite artists on vinyl, cassettes, and compact discs.
For those who don't know, the music store was established in the 1940s. It has hosted legendary musicians like Pandit Ravi Shankar and many Bollywood stars. However, the store became irrelevant with a wave of music piracy and later by digital streaming websites that effected the store.
On October 23, 2023, Sonam took to her Instagram handle and posted a couple of pictures from her new home. The actress was decked up in a pretty blush pink-toned suit with golden embroidery in the photos. She styled her look with jhumkis and kadas. Subtle makeup with soft lips and hair tied in a braid completed her look.
We also got a sneak-peak of her new home as the actress was sitting on a retro chair by the window. The walls of her new home was engraved with ancient Indian karigari. Sonam's new home gave out Indian palace vibes. Along with it, Sonam wrote:
"We moved into our new house this week .. our hearts are filled with joy and hope and we can’t wait to make new memories here."
