After months of speculations about the much-anticipated wedding of Bollywood diva, Sonam Kapoor with her long-time businessman beau, Anand Ahuja, they finally released a statement to make it official. Sonam and Anand’s wedding is just around the corner, and the wedding preparations are going on in full swing. On May 8, 2018, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja will be tied in the holy matrimony in a Gurudwara wedding which will be followed by the star-studded reception. Anand Ahuja, who hails from Delhi, is the grandson of the Delhi-based businessman, Harish Ahuja who is the owner of India’s largest export house, Shahi Exports. Sonam frequented Anand’s home in Delhi many times.
Post-wedding, Sonam Kapoor’s sasural in the capital will be in posh Lutyens area and has 3170 square yard plot. Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s plush bungalow in Delhi is worth whopping Rs 173 crores. This house was sold to Harish Ahuja by Om Arora (owner of Variety Book Depot in Connaught Place) in 2015. Their house is called a 'sher mukhi' bungalow because of its shape which is wider in the front and tapers towards the back. As per the earlier reports, Sonam and Anand plan to shift to London post their wedding and have bought a new house in the Notting Hill. According to a leading media portal, “Sonam and Anand have bought a two-bedroom apartment in Notting Hill. The couple will move to London soon after their wedding.” But in case, the couple decided to settle down in Delhi, they have a plush bungalow worth Rs 173 crores.
Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding invites are finally out, and all the functions along with venues and the dress codes are revealed. As per the invitation cards, the wedding festivities will start with the mehendi ceremony on May 7, 2018, at the banquet hall of Sonam’s new apartment, Sunteck, Signature Island. And the dress code for the ceremony is Indian Festive - Shades of White.
It will be followed by Anand Karaj on May 8, 2018, at Rockdale, Bandstand, Bandra. And the dress code is Indian traditional. Later in the evening is the star-studded wedding reception at The Leela, Mumbai and the dress code for the function is Indian or western formal. Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding invite categorically mentioned, "Your presence on our special day is the only gift we desire." Years ago, on Simi Garewal’s show, Sonam talked about the wedding gift that she would want to give to her future hubby. Sonam was quoted as saying, “I have written quite a few poems but there was this one poem that I wrote when I was around 16 years old. It is called Ambition. I had promised myself that as soon as I find the person that I'm going to be with, I'm going to give him that poem. The day I get married, the poem will be with that man and I'll say that this is what I want my life to be like and hopefully, we can work together towards this." Sonam’s brother and Bhavesh Joshi Superhero actor, Harshvardhan Kapoor opened about his sister’s marriage and his soon-to-be brother-in-law. Harshvardhan stated, "I am really happy that she is getting married and Anand is a great guy." He further added, "I am planning to gift Sonam lots of love on her wedding."
