When Bollywood and weddings come together, the outcome is a grand celebration. Among a lot of Bollywood hitches in the past year, the soon-to-be-Mrs is Bollywood’s very own Aisha, Sonam Kapoor. The past few days have been around a lot of speculations on the frequent change of Sonam Kapoor-Anand Ahuja’s wedding venue and date. While fans were hoping that Sonam would have a destination wedding, a source close to the Kapoor family had shared to the Mumbai Mirror that both the venue and dates have been changed. The couple is likely to get married sometime between May 7 and 10 in Mumbai.
Yes, you heard it right! The reason being, it is becoming difficult for the families to accommodate around 150 members of duo’s extended family in Switzerland. A source close to the Kapoor khaandaan revealed to the same tabloid that, “It was becoming too cumbersome to manage the travel and living arrangements for approximately 150 members of the extended family and close friends of the Kapoor's as well as Anand's. It would have been difficult for the senior members of the extended family, who are expected to attend all the ceremonies, to fly to Switzerland”. The change of plan has put the Kapoors in a jiffy as it becomes difficult to find a suitable venue in the last moment at metro cities. However, they are leaving no stone unturned to finalise the venue for their darling daughter. The source further added, “The Kapoor family is working overtime to finalize the details at the last minute after several changes in the dates. Since SoBo (South Mumbai) would be too far for the families as well as the guests from Delhi, Sonam and her mother, Sunita, want to finalize a suburban hotel, preferably in Bandra or Juhu”.
As per earlier plans, Sonam was supposed to have a destination wedding on April 29 in Mumbai. Sonam is reportedly going to have a three-day wedding bash. While the guest list has been prepared, the invitations have been kept on hold as the venue is yet to be finalised. As per reports, Sonam’s Veere Di Wedding co-stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania are on the guest list along with other close friends from Bollywood, politicians and top media professionals.
