Sridevi once talked about the dark side of the glamour world and revealed how she had been a victim of sexual harassment in the entertainment industry.
Born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyappan, Sridevi was the ‘First Female Superstar’ of Indian cinema. She made her acting debut at the mere age of four with a mythological film, Thunaivan and later starred opposite many superstars of Indian cinema. With more than 300 films to her credit, she was the most successful heroine of her era and was even paid higher than her male counterparts.
After a hiatus of 15 years from films, Sridevi returned to acting with the film, English Vinglish in 2012. With a successful comeback, Sridevi was soaring high both professionally and personally. But the news of her sudden demise from drowning in February 2018 shook the nation.

There are various unknown facts about Sridevi, and her life has been an inspiration to millions. But as they say, everything that glitters is not gold. For Sridevi, everything was not hunky dory. Despite being one of the most powerful actresses of her time, she faced sexual abuse in the industry.
Shocking, isn’t it? Yes, the superstar of Indian cinema once talked about the same to an entertainment journalist. Once, Sridevi was asked how she was able to portray different women in her films after living a cloistered life in the studios. The actress replied that she was once doing a film, in which the hero was constantly hitting on her.

But when she kept rejecting his advances, the actor became furious. In one of the scenes, where she was supposed to walk ahead, and the hero had to follow her in a jeep, he deliberately ran the vehicle over her foot. Narrating the whole incident, the stunning actress revealed:
“People think I have experienced nothing but there is a lot I have gone through in life.”
Sridevi was a huge sensation, and her stardom is still unmatched. She played the role of Rajinikanth’s on-screen stepmother when she was just 13 in the film, Moondru Mudichu. Sridevi’s dedication towards her work was commendable. She used to put her heart and soul into all her films. The actress shot the song, Na Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai with a 103-degree fever.
The world turned upside down, not just for Sridevi’s family, but for her millions of fans when the news of the actress’ death hit the headlines on February 24, 2018. Sridevi, who went to Dubai to attend her nephew, Mohit Marwah’s wedding, was found dead in her hotel room’s bathroom by her husband. Sridevi’s death broke Boney Kapoor, who still lives with the sweet memories of her in his heart.
Well, not everyone is aware of the fact that most of Sridevi's property was donated to charity after her death. Sridevi's husband, Boney Kapoor had donated a large sum of money to a charity in the name of his late wife. Moreover, the doting husband also got a school built in a distant village where free education is being provided to all the kids.
Well, Sridevi was the pride of Indian cinema, who, with her innocence and talent, made a permanent place in everyone’s heart!
