Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan are Bollywood's power couple. They have received fame worldwide. However, their luxurious abode, Mannat, is a tourist landmark. For Mumbaikars and non-Mumbaikars who visit the city, Mannat is one of the most iconic landmarks in Mumbai. It draws thousands of fans every day who want to catch a glimpse of the megastar. However, the latest reports claim that Mannat is set to undergo an expansion.

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri's Mannat to expand

Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat is located in Mumbai's posh Bandstand area in Bandra. However, as per a report by Times Now Digital, SRK's wife, Gauri, an interior designer, applied to the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) in November 2024. The report further states that the request is related to the construction of an additional two floors above the existing structure. The MCZMA reviewed the application during the recent meeting that had taken place on December 10 and 11, 2024.

Mannat to be expanded for Rs. 25 crore?

If the extension of Mannat is approved, then the cost of the project will be around Rs. 25 crore. Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat is a heritage property made in 1914, and the process of expansion requires strict approval and correct measures. King Khan's residence splurged across a size of 2091.38 square meters, including a six-storey modern building, which is Khan's private residence. For years, Shah Rukh's home has symbolised his journey as an outsider to the biggest megastar of Hindi cinema. Every year, on King Khan's birthday, November 2, a sea of fans come to Mannat to glimpse their favourite star and showcase their love.

Interesting facts about Mannat

Shah Rukh Khan had not constructed Mannat. According to a report by Cosmopolitan, the house belonged to a Gujarati man who was once the actor's neighbour. When King Khan decided to take the home, it was then called as, 'Villa Vienna'. SRK met the owner named Nariman Dubash, and after a lot of negotiation, he got the home for Rs. 13.32 Cr in 2001, and now the property price is around Rs. 300 Cr.

How SRK named his home Mannat?

When the actor was able to buy his dream house, Villa Vienna as it was earlier called, he had thought of calling it Jannat. However, a report by Cosmopolitan stated that as soon as the actor purchased the home, all his wishes started becoming true. His career graph in Bollywood started hitting a high note, and so, the actor changed his mind. Instead of Jannat he started calling his home, Mannat. The palatial heritage building has a posh lounge, a kitchen that would make any master chef drool and an array of different offices and studios where the megastar works.
