During her appearance on 'The Kapil Sharma Show', Sudha Murthy revealed how she first met her husband, Narayana Murthy and shared her first reaction upon seeing him.
Sudha Murthy is a popular English and Kannada writer and philanthropist who is an inspiration to millions. She is married to Infosys co-founder and businessman, Narayana Murthy. Apart from being a bestselling author, Sudha Murthy is also an educator and was awarded Padma Shri for her contribution to Indian society in 2006.
Sudha Murthy graced the most popular talk show, The Kapil Sharma Show, along with actress, Raveena Tandon and Oscar-winning producer, Guneet Monga. Recently, the makers of the show shared a snippet from the same, wherein Sudha Murthy was seen talking about how her friend had first introduced her to her husband, Narayana Murthy. Sudha was heard saying:
“Ek mitra the uska naam Prasanna, aur woh mere colleague the. Aur har roz ek book lete the... Narayana Murthy Istanbul, Narayana Murthy Peshawar, Mujhe laga ye Narayana Murthy international bus conductor he kya?"

She further recalled the first encounter she had with her partner, Narayana Murthy, and shared that she thought that he would be dashing and good-looking. However, she was shocked to see him and thought who that 'kid' was. In her words:
"Mujhe laga ekdum film hero ke jaisa handsome Narayana Murthy... dashing. When he opened the door mujhe laga ye kaun he aadmi, chhota bachha?”
Though their first meeting didn't go as expected, Narayana and Sudha gradually fell in love with one another. After a courtship of some years, Narayana Murthy made a unique marriage proposal to Sudha, which was every bit beautiful. He had said:
“I am 5’4” tall. I come from a middle-class family. I can never become rich. You are beautiful, bright, and intelligent and you will get anyone you would like. But will you still marry me?”

Back then, Narayana was working as a research assistant and wasn’t earning much from his job, thus Sudha’s father was against their marriage. However, later Narayana started working as a general manager at Patni Computers in 1977, and Sudha’s father accepted Narayana’s proposal to marry her. The duo got married with only their families present for ceremonies at Narayana’s house in Bangalore. However, the key highlight of their wedding was that Sudha and her husband, Narayana had an equal share in the marriage expenses and had spent Rs. 400 each.
